Wow. That's almost as big as signing Freeman long term.

Wow, Braves are BANKING on that new stadium revenue. Not sure what they'd be doing if they didn't cut that deal.

Did anyone honestly believe they would be locking up these young guys like this? Even with the projected income from the new ballpark I didn't think they would be making these moves. I couldn't be more buzzed about getting this season started.

I had 0 faith that they'd be wrapping these guys up. After losing McCann, it was essential we go ahead and lock up the key pieces for the future. Braves have done just that. Next move in-house is to hit Simmons with a nice extension.

Just think if they had the revenue they flushed down the toilet with BJ's deal.

Well, if it's not Mike Hampton or Dan Uggla, it's gotta be someone. At least BJ is a decent fielder.

He's a solid closer. Probably worth the money.

Damn. Not expecting this one at all. Hope we have the money we're pretending to have right now.

So is Jordan Schaffer for about $14 million less.

At least Uggla has averaged 25 HR's his 3 seasons for the Braves.I would kill for that production out of BJ...even
if he did have .220 BA.Point is BJ is a COMPLETE waste
with no upside.

Seems like an awful lot for a player who only played 68 innings last year. That is $132k/inning if he makes 9million for that year.

Well, do we lose Heyward for sure in a few years?

Agreed. Never pay for saves. That's money that could go to keeping J-Up or Heyward in 2 years.

Just imagine if Uggla and BJ actually hit .250 with 30 HR's and BJ stole 50 bases.

Man those assholes are screwin this good thing up. Freddy needs to put them on a short leash and give them 3 weeks max to prove they can be worth a shite or they need to cut their losses, eat the money, and get someone else at those positions.

They only stayed because of their craptastic contracts. 3 weeks. And if they're batting 200 or less after the first 3 weeks of the season, GTFO.
