I'll admit I am a little disappointed. With his speed I was hoping he could be a Melvin Ingram type player on our line.

Also I am kind of surprised, I figured do to the OLB/DE talent from Georgia this year that UGA would have someone higher on their board, guys like Natrez Patrick, D'Andre Walker, and Roquan Smith. Is Georgia in need of alot depth at OLB this recruiting class?

Roquan Smith is a ILB for us, fwiw. Those guys are all still primary targets for UGA. They're too talented to turn down, and all three are pretty flexible in terms of position

Judging from his comments in the AJC --- it's stickin'.

This may be the first year people are actually worried about us taking their recruits instead of people tugging on ours all year and stealing them. We coming for Mekhi ;)

I wanted a lifetime contract for Todd Grantham. Pruitt was enough of a pain in the arse for Bama recruiting when he was at FSU. He stole DeMarcus Walker and almost stole Humphrey.

At least now the roles are reversed. If Pruitt does well this year, and Smart leaves for a head coaching job next year, we will be there with lots of cash.

I hope we flip Brown, but I'd say Ledbetter is much more likel FWIW. From what I read, he was a UGA fan growing up who the last defensive staff didn't offer in a timely.

If we were able to pull Tuttle from NC and flip Ledbetter, I guess I could begrudgingly be ok with Brown going to Bama

I think it will be a lot easier to flip him if Elisha Shaw doesn't qualify.

Eeeh, maybe, but I don't think Shaw being at Bama makes a difference unless they're related, which they may be and I don't know about it. Didn't Ledbetter commit to Bama before Bama knew for sure they'd be offering a med scholly to Shaw?

We signed 2 guys from Tucker in this past year's class alone and a few others over the course of the years. We typically get who we want out of there. Obviously opening up a Tucker to Bama pipeline was Saban's intention in honoring the Shaw scholarship, but I just can't imagine that having any real effect at that particular school. Regardless, Saban still got the good publicity out of it with no real risk, so a win-win for him.

No, Bama has known for awhile that is what they were doing. Shaw was initially supposed to commit at the All-American game, but his coach told him he had to be honest about his story so that he wouldn't scare away any other dline recruits who were looking at numbers at Bama. He wasn't ready to do that, so that is why he put off his announcement until NSD.
Ledbetter was visiting Bama with Elisha Shaw when he committed, so they seem to be close.
