Question for older fans, UA fans: What would have been Bryant's solution?

One of Coach Bryant's supreme virtues was adaptability to the ever changing realities of football. Would he have:
01. Recruit slightly smaller but faster players at the edge positions.
02. Build stamina via quicker, fast paced practices.
03. Accentuate recruiting a few highly intelligent players at the LB/Safety positions that could make quick and proper on field calls/adjustments.
04. Develop a defensive scheme that works modeled after successful coaches (such as Chavis).
I didn't put down bitching as option 5 since I don't associate this with the great man.
What say the rant?

He'd drink a little bourbon and bang the hot secretary in your office.

5. recruit every HUNH position player in the country and put them on the bench

I'm pretty sure he'd light one up in your office afterwards too.

Once the NCAA limited his recruiting advantage and started making scheduling more equitable, Coach Bryant became a mediocre coach at best.

Bear was as successful as he was, because he didn't stay stagnant and was open to change when it was proven to be successful.
I believe Saban is the same in some regards. He's shown in a couple of interviews, that he may adapt some HUNH to some degree. However, being the winningest program over the last 5 yrs in college football, I wouldn't see a need to get away from what he's been doing either. HUNH teams have lost considerably more games than his pro-style teams.

Is that why he only won 2 NC's and 3 SEC title in his last 5 years?

Yes but his issue isn't with running it, it's with defending it.
The rest I agree with.

He'd go balls out to stop them on 1st down.
The HUNH gets neutered in long distance / down situations.
