Where do you sit on this HUNH debate? Our teams are the only relevant ones that don't have coaches throwing fits one way or the other, so I'm interested how the fans feel.

I think the HUNH is fricking stupid gimmick bullshite for teams that cannot line up and whip your arse.
But since our offense sux and we are apparently going to try and run it I am all for it! :thumbsup:

I honestly don't care. I do beleiev it gives the offense somewhat of an advantage, considering they are proactive and the defense is reactive, but with that said....not sure its so much of an advantage that a rule change is in order.
Also, I hate when people throw out conditioning as an excuse. If the offense can run 90 plays then so should the defense on the opposing team. The conditioning argument is a wash imo.

HUNH play sucks.
I think the rule will pass though for 1 reason. You gotta figure that Saban wouldn't take the risk of looking like an idiot without knowing the fix was already in. Probably a lot of back room politicking going on with this - just my guess.

I don't care if the HUNH continues as is or not. We played UNC, clem5on and even Miss St ran it for a couple drives last year. We were able to hold our own against it. In the offseason the players focused a lot on conditioning, b/c we knew the 1st game UNC was going to come out with the HUNH. We won those games so I'm not worried about the HUNH. If you have the defensive players who are conditioned well, you can deal with all the gimmick offenses.

Lsu seemed to do fine against Oregon and A&M. This is like saying that the wishbone is unfair. Line up and play.

As long as the officials handle it well (stand over the ball on subs, get in position for the snap, etc.), I have no problem with it. The HUNH is a fair offensive strategy imo.

Do not care - gimmick or not, it has proven to be successful.
I think whining and complaining about it and trying to get a rule changed is a bullshite whiny baby move.
To me, it's like telling Coca Cola they have to change their recipe and business model because Pepsi doesn't like being second place.

Saban is doing this because he is scared of LSU. He could change his defense to a lighter, faster more agile unit to stop the HUNH. But in doing so his defense would be more susceptible to the Les Miles/Cam Cameron offense.
So he wants to keep his defense that works well against LSU's offense but change the rules so that he can compete against Sumlin & Gus.
Saban isn't a good x and o's coach he wins but dirty recruiting the best athletes and manipulating schedules. Now he's trying to change the rules.

I don't care one way or the other. Just don't like watching HUNH circus show. The fact they're calling this a "player safety" issue suggests to me that the fix is in. Saban/Bama lobbying behind the scenes.

As an LSU fan, when we opened up with Oregon in 2011, we spent a large portion of the offseason preparing physically in a way to deal with the HUNH for the opening game.
Miles had two offenses rotating quickly at one defense in practice and it caused our defense to in extremely good shape. Of course we had amazing defensive talent that year, but I think the way LSU practiced that offseason had a lot to do with their success on defense.
So, my point is, if your Coach and strength and conditioning staff prepare the team to be focused and physically ready before and throughout the season, the players should be ready for the HUNH. I wish LSU would practice that way every offseason.
