Clearly BB is at the forefront of the movement, so it deserves a thread on our board without the Auburn bitchfest. What say ye, hog fans? Do you agree with tCaptain?

I'm fine with it for the sole reason that it is the gift that keeps on giving on the SECr.

i'm for anything that causes auburn fans to melt. you'd never know they actually had a great season the way they have been acting- between the threats and drama surrounding that evans kid who picked bama and now this.
i guess that little titty baby brother syndrome can't be stopped no matter what and i'm enjoying every minute of it.

For real It really wouldn't change much except give defenses a sure 10 seconds to sub. Rarely do offenses snap the ball before the play clock is out of the 30s. If it passes though we'll have so much troll ammo for the rant

This meltdown is tremendous. I would have never expected such a thing during the most boring part of the offseason.

I like the 10 second rule proposal. I don't want to have to hurry up and pick my chicken nugget off the floor, especially if I'm holding a milkshake. All sorts of injuries are possible in that scenario. This rule gives us all time to get our affairs in order while not wasting food we spent our precious money on.

The defense should be allowed to sub between plays, the offense should not have the ability to dictate this.
It won't effect anything as these HUNH teams have been rushing to the line to prevent the defense from subbing, but still take 10+ seconds to snap the ball as they mere cat to the sidelines for the play.

Agree.
Of course I sound like a homer for supporting it, but it's a generally valid rule because, like you said, the offense should not be able to dictate *whether* the defense can sub in players or not. Plus, it's a generally unfair advantage for an offense in that defense is a more tiring side of the ball because literally everyone is pursuing the ball, and injuries are a legitimate concern.

I have never seen such a group of people get so worked up over a coach. It is one thread after another about BB. I know I'm relatively new here but is this pretty much par for the course? Just curious since I don't see that many threads about other coaches.

You'll find that auburn fans are very hogsessed. I don't really know why but they are. Probably because until this year, we've been kicking their arse since 2008

Same thing happened when Petrino was here, he sucked, would never achieve "X" while at Arkansas.
The day after he was fired it was "Arkansas made a mistake firing one of the best coaches in CFB" and similar.
Most of the posters on tRant knew Nutt as Arkansas' coach for their lifetime of memory, so the idea of Arkansas actually having a good coach wads their panties into their vayjays.

Is there an actual report Bielema was the one leading the lobby effort, or is it just assumed?

Bielema wrote the rule, Saban is lobbying for it is the conspiracy theory.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the other guy on the committee that proposed the rule and Bert gets credit like the "we don't recruit like the SEC" quote that was said by the Minnesota coach at the time is attributed to Bert because it appeared in the same article as actual quotes from him.
