If ya can't beat em, file a report against em.

Another reason to like Tubs.
Cincinnati coach Tommy Tuberville, a former defensive coordinator whose team averaged 78 plays per game (28th in the nation), said the proposal was never discussed during last month's American Football Coaches of Association convention.
"This came out of left field," he said. "It's wrong."

AU won 6 games running under 70 plays so it's no affect to us.

So Bert (AFCA rep) is pushing a personal agenda without consulting with the association beforehand?

This won't change the game if passed. The 40 second play clock starts when the ball carrier is down. By the time the ref spots the ball and the offense lines up, 10 seconds are gone.

If this shite passes, look for Gus to send a message to Bert week one. Every play snapped at :29.

Huddle, breakout, quick snap before D can recognize formation.

Seeing how most teams run a version of the HUNH, it won't pass.
ETA:
And we run a NH offense. Only a few times in a game do we run the HU. Gus adjust each play, and we usually snap between 15-25 secs.

I suspected it would have come up at the AFCA last month. You didn't think they were going to give up did you? Bert =

This would probably work out in favor of the offense. Like it was said, the offense rarely snaps the ball before 10 seconds are up anyway. With this rule, the defense will think they have time to sub, but will get caught trying to line up because they can't get it done in 10 seconds.

This is the solution

This rule won't affect Auburn as much as other hurry up teams, but it's still annoying to be targeted like this. Feels like Bear Bryant is back and still changing rules whenever he feels like it.

I love this btw. You know your coach is the best in the country when people have to make rules to beat him.

I don't see that passing.

Gus has rustled Burt's and Saban's jimmie. I would love to hear the convo between them pre-game next season.

"Well, we tried to get it banned. Do you think we should try again this off-season"?

Even though I think the rule is pathetic and ridiculous, I won't affect Auburn.
