Suppose we add Virginia Tech and Florida State:

Division:

Florida
Florida State
Georgia
South Carolina

Division:

Tennessee
Virginia Tech
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

Division:

Texas A&M
LSU
Arkansas
Missouri

Division:

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Miss. State

Wouldn't this allow more flexible and equitable scheduling? You play everybody in your division. That's 3. You play at least 1 Team from the other divisions. That's 6. Add in two permanent cross divisional rivals to bring it up to 8.

For example: LSU

Missouri
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Kentucky
Auburn
South Carolina
And for the 2 permanent cross divisional rivals:
Alabama
Florida

Compare the difficulty to

Tennessee
Virginia Tech
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

And realize the error of your ways

fricking stupid. 2 of the those divisions should be cakewalks every year and 1 of them is a murderer's row.

We don't get to play UF, UGA and Bama every year? No thanks.

if you're afraid to play Alabama, Auburn, and Florida every year, just say it.

Grant of Rights. ACC isn't losing a member for a very long time.

Sounds great. Too bad the ACC GOR makes this impossible until we are all a decade older.

Oh and the fact that the Big 12 will probably die before the ACC (its GOR ends first) so poaching from that neighboring league will be difficult even in 10 years.

EDIT: dbt_Geaux_Tigers_196 beat me to it. The SECR is just turrible when it comes to common expansion knowledge (GORs, Tier 1/2/3 contracts, Network monetization, reasons for expansion).

If the WVU forum is the most sophisticated place for conference realignment expansion on the net, this forum is one of the worst.

I'm all in for this. Only thing is that I see Clemson coming rather than VA Tech. Helps retain the USC-CLEMSON rivalry.

Re read this.. I change my mind. Ill pass.

This is the only answer... and you don't have to add anybody else, either.

No school with even 1% of a brain would want to be guaranteed to play bama, auburn, and florida every year. it's suicide.

It has nothing to do with being "afraid" as you say, it has to do with not being fricking stupid.

That's not going anywhere no matter how you schedule or move conferences around...
