He has 13 right now, with 10 losses. Does he get another gimme year? I just don't see him as the answer right now.

Umm... Probably has to win out the regular season w/a couple conference tourney wins.
So odds are highly against

He's probably safe with 4

Unfortunately, with how little our donors care about basketball, another slightly over .500 overall record may grant him a fourth season.
That would set a lower standard than Tony Barone (who went 19-11 and 10-4 in conference) after 3 years.

he gone I predict
that would be a strong statement from our AD (whom I have not been overly impressed with so far) that we want to compete for championships in our conference, no matter what the sport.

He better be gone. I think they go 3 for 8 the rest of the way.

I think we have an AD who desparately needs to put his stamp on something. He didn't hire Sumlin, he isn't the man behind the conference change or the stadium expansion... so all he's done really is get in the way. I think Kennedy's awful job performance creates the perfect opportunity for Hyman and I'm betting Hyman uses it.

I'm in complete agreement, and hope this will be the the case.

Postseason or bust. And I'm not counting the NIT unless he wins it.

Agreed.
This would be Hyman's first chance to make a splash hire in a major sport. I hope that such an opportunity will appeal to his vanity.
Hyman's track record of coaching hires in this sport at TCU and USCe (too early to pass judgment on Frank Martin) leaves much to be desired.
Even though I am skeptical about Hyman's ability to make the right hire, it's better than the alternative: keeping Kennedy for a fourth year.
Before the season began, Brent Zwerneman reported that it was post-season or bust for Kennedy this year.
A&M is 4-6 in conference with eight games to play. To ensure an NIT berth, this team will probably have to go 7-1 to finish 11-7 in conference play.

20 wins and a 11-7 record is decent enough shot to make the big dance. Especially with a win or 2 in the SEC tourney. Mizzou made it last year and UT was barely left out.

Our RPI at 143 is way too damn high for a tournament berth. We have no decent OOC wins and too many bad losses on our resume.
We've been blown out the gym by any team that has a pulse.
The only way we secure a tourney invite is by winning the SEC tournament or by winning every single game leading to the SEC Championship AND beating at least one of Florida or Kentucky (you know, teams with a pulse).
The SEC is a 3-bid league this year.

I think that if the team go 9-9 and 1-1 in the tourney, he is guaranteed a 4th year.

It would be a sad state of affairs to be content with a team playing .500 ball in the SEC in year 3 with no tournament appearances of any kind.
We deserve better but Hyman's track record doesn't necessarily state that the next hire will be a good one.

Nothing should save his job at this point.

In this very unlikely scenario they RPI will drop a lot finishing 9-2 (2-1 in the tourney) and put us on the right side of 20 & likely 3-5 in the standings.

Right on cue after making my prediction. I counted this as a loss tonight. Our intimidating home court advantage must have done the trick.

Dude we have so many bad losses and our schedule is terrible. One of the worst OOC scheds in the country (and we went an unfathomable 9-4) and we're in the worst major conference. 11-7 makes it a nail biter to get into the NIT.
