"On May 28, 2013, the Walton Arts Center Council approved plans to build a mid-sized, permanent outdoor amphitheater that will attract headlining artists and bigger audiences to Northwest Arkansas. As part of a multi-campus expansion to grow arts and entertainment in the region, the new venue will serve as a major stop for big touring concerts in the MidSouth, competing with markets like Dallas, Tulsa and Kansas City."

I am sure some of y'all are aware of this venue but I am very excited to see how much NWA is growing in terms of the arts alone. I am glad we will have a full venue to compete for concerts!

The new and enhanced facility will include features such as:• Seating capacity for more than 6,000+ people: 3,000 comfortable seats, protected from the weather and 3,000+ lawn seats with improved sight-lines• Convenient location right off I-540 (20 minutes from anywhere in NWA)
• Ample parking with easy access in and out
• Entry plaza and drop off area (with wheelchair accessibility)
• Upgraded concessions and air-conditioned restrooms
• 5,590 sq. ft. stage house that can accommodate most touring acts on the road today
• Upgraded technical capabilities including advanced video, lighting and audio
• Artist lounge, dressing rooms, production offices and storage

Hopefully that's not the color scheme, but looks like it will be a badass venue.

I remember how excited we were when we got one 26 years ago.

The structure is pretty large. It's going up on the Pinnacle exit in Rogers as we speak.

I live about 1/2 a mile away.. WOOOOOO! Probably can hear the bands play from my place.

It looks huge driving by it. And it's coming along quickly.

It has a lovely view of I-540, just like the ballpark in Springdale.

It reminds me a lot of what is now Aaron's Ampitheatre in Atlanta. If it's similar at all then it should be a great venue. I love going to that place for shows.

Rogers and Bentonville have really stepped their game up the last couple of years. Fayetteville is getting left behind.

They keep added to an already solid lineup.

LINK /

"Country stars Darius Rucker and Pat Green, the latest artists added to the lineup for the new venue’s inaugural year at the new location, will join fellow country acts Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss and Jason Isbell (July 7), Jake Owen (Sept. 11), and banjo phenom Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers (Aug. 3) as part of a twang-heavy initial lineup of shows this year.

Rucker and Green are set to perform at the AMP on Friday, June 20, the venue announced today."

I'm afraid they are only going to get country and pop acts unfortunately.

As shitty as the AMP in Fayetteville was, they at least got some good EDM/Jamband acts.

Too bad the AMP on the hillside by the mall fell through, would've been real tight

This will get the same generic country and pop that every mid-sized metro gets. Still, it looks kind of impressive driving by.

I was in Rogers today, and I'm feel downright small-town going to big ole Benton County these days. I'm just a Fayetteville yokel.

Jake Owen & Darius Rucker already booked for summer /early fall concerts at the AMP.

They are putting the roof on it now.

Looks damn similar to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, only not as big.

Place was fricking awesome.
