Econ test pushed back again.
At this point are we even going to have a spring break?

A message from UNIVERSITY RELATIONS

Although weather forecasts for the next few days continue to be uncertain, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for north central Alabama, including Tuscaloosa and the UA campus, from 9 p.m. today through midnight Wednesday, Feb. 12. The prediction is for snow, sleet and freezing rain starting this evening through Wednesday at midnight.

Based on this forecast, classes, work schedules for non-essential personnel and all activities at The University of Alabama are canceled starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 through Tuesday, Feb. 11. A decision about classes and operations for Wednesday, Feb. 12, will be made later and will be communicated to the campus via email, the UA home page, local media, social media and text messages.

Because of the number of class days already canceled this semester due to weather, if road and weather conditions improve and the campus has power on Tuesday or Wednesday, UA will notify employees and students that classes, activities and normal operations will resume within two hours of being notified via UA Alerts.

Students and employees are encouraged to continue to monitor local weather sources and changing weather conditions along their travel routes.

The University’s emergency preparedness group will continue to monitor weather reports. If needed, updated information will be available on the UA website at LINK , through local radio and television stations, and via UA Alerts text and email alerts.

Persons traveling outside the UA area should check the Alabama Department of Transportation website at LINK for road conditions to their destination.

Please note the following concerning campus services for tonight and Tuesday, Feb. 11:
The Rec Center, the Libraries and the Ferguson Center will be closed.
Dining halls at Lakeside and Burke and Julia’s Market in Tutwiler will be open.
Crimson Ride buses will not run.
Call 348-5454 if you need emergency transportation.
The Ferguson Mail Center will be closed. Students can access their mailboxes by using the 24-hour entrance.

Seems like most people I know didn't really read it. Classes are cancelled for now, but if it doesn't get cold enough for any real ice then they'll reopen. Still, I can't see them making a decision till 9 or so (8 at the earliest) so if you have a class before 10 or 11 it should be cancelled regardless (considering there's a two hour window).

It will probably ice enough for it to be cancelled altogether though

I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't open up and start classes at some point. Could be as early as 10 but it will probably be 11 or 12

Why do people care?
I've seen the gist of this post around a hundred times.

Anyways I'm not sure there will be any snow, but who knows?

We may start back at 1 according to the new email. Which pretty much means we'll start back at 1, unless something unexpected happens

Yep. If we didn't miss so many days already they would probably let us for the whole day.

Well, if it's anything like the last storm, the state moved them all from north AL and staged them south of Montgomery. Of course, when the snow hit north Alabama, they waited over 20 hours to start moving them back.

My guess is that you'll see them tomorrow morning, and they'll all be sporting Troy bumper stickers.

Well the forecast for today was only a light dusting possible north of the TN River but a lot places saw up to 1-5 in which froze over pretty fast making the roads shitty and I guess North AL people learned their lessons closing many main roads such as I565 making it damn near impossible to get to Huntsville/Madison.
