Sam came out to his team at Mizzou in the summer of 2013, and they supported him.

They never leaked it or had problems with it. Props to the Mizzou football staff and players.

I think most teams would react the same way.
When a good friend or loved one comes out to you you pretty much get over any homophobia you had quickly. It's easy to hate gays until it's someone you care about. Props to the Mizzou team and staff for their acceptance.

Yeah a lot of people knew about it, but no one gave a frick. Why should anyone care if the kid is gay?

That's great. to Mizzou.

It will be interesting to see how his NFL teammates treat him. His future NFL teammates haven't played football with him for years.

He did them a good service. Would not be surprised that he made at least a few others on the team at least ponder if they might also be gay.

Yup. Well said.

Sorta like when a friend or family member reveals that they have AIDS. You quickly become FAR less scared of the disease and do your best to understand their situation.

They obviously felt it would all come out in the end...
