Georgia +41

LSU +30 (+51 if you only count the actual Sugar Bowl)

Auburn +3

Florida 0

Arkansas -5

Alabama -7 (-28 if you only count actual Sugar Bowl appearances)

Note: I included BCSNCG into the Sugar Bowl total because the +1 game was relatively new to the arrangement. In years where there was the +1, I would just count it as two Sugar Bowls. This actually helps Alabama quite a bit, by the way, and hurts LSU dropping them to second place.

That last game was the only time that you had the extra game for the Sugar Bowl, so I added it in anyway.

Without it, LSU would be at +51 and in first place and Alabama would be at -28. See, I am trying to be nice.

Yeah, unless you are playing LSU in New Orleans, you should not go. Apparently, LSU is the only team you can get up for.

Yeah, I know. I was throwing them a bone.

See my edit.

When LSU played in 2003 and 2007, it was the Sugar Bowl. Then, the +1 came later.

So, if you take away that 2007 mulligan bowl/fiasco, Alabama should decline to play in the Sugar Bowl from now on. Their fans get arrested and attack people and their team gets blown out.

Did the Sugar Bowl start in the BCS era?

No, but it became a BCS bowl in the Sugar Bowl era and fundamentally changed how its participants were chosen.

I know that Alabama was irrelevant throughout the first 2/3 of the BCS Era, but for the rest of us, football started before 2008. Try and keep up, k?

Nope. The +1 started in 2006 (Boise/OU Fiesta Bowl then Florida/OSU one week later. 2007 Hawaii and UGA were the Sugar Bowl and then LSU/OSU a week later.

And congrats on LSU's 6-7 all time record in the Sugar Bowl

Ah, gotcha. Thanks. Well, I did it right the first time anyway.

Alabama is still last in point differential.

As for LSU's all time record there in bowl games, we're 4-1 since the BCS started, and that is kind of what this post is about. So . . .

Yes, and for some, they harken back to the days of the leather helmets.

This post is about the BCS era. Why would you be trying to expand it past that?

I am talking about point differentials of Sugar Bowl/BCS games in New Orleans during the BCS era.

Why did you speak directly of 2008?

Because that is the first time that Alabama went to the Sugar Bowl since the BCS Era started and since 1992.
