Going to the vet at 12.

But is this normal? He poops (diarrhea from the shots) then follows up with a little bit of blood.

His stool looks like there may be something in there like maybe a small wood chip?

Any experience with this?

One of my cats was defecating blood with her stool and it turned out to be parasites. Good that you're taking your pup to the vet, though, it's hard to tell.

Blood may just be a blood vessel broke from the pup pushing so much

Good idea. He/she will be able to tell you what's going on better than any of us here.

Not a DVM but he probably ate something and has had some trouble passing it or he has some form of intestinal parasite... Both are perfectly normal... Like UMTR said, taking him to the vet ASAP is the correct thing to do... I'm sure everything is ok.

Vet thinks it's just a vaccine reaction and that he'll be ok. She gave me an anti diarrhea gel for him and wants to do some pre screen thing before his next shots.

She doesn't think it's parvo bc he's still eating

I'm glad your pup is okay. One of my dogs was passing blood occasionally and when I took him in the vet couldn't find anything wrong. I watched him like a hawk and finally realized it was happening only when I shared some heavily spiced baked chicken with him. His system couldn't handle some of the spices.

How old is your pup?

I just took mine today for his first round of shots at 10 weeks. He just now weighs enough where they let him get the shots.
