Two things I take out of that article.
1) The 2015 schedule that is announced this spring will be yet another "bridge" schedule, with anything permanent not occurring until 2016.
2) ESPN needs to have better proofreaders for stories: "when the Auburn-Alabama already game steals the show."

I don't like the idea.
I think SEC teams should try to schedule OOC games against teams from other regions of the country, if possible, rather than ACC teams.
Also, I think the SEC will eventually go to a 9-game conference schedule (and should with 14 teams)....and I think that, at the same time, the NCAA will allow the scheduling of a 13th game, which will allow SEC teams to continue to schedule 4 OOC games along the lines of the current formula--one "marquee" opponent and 3 rent-a-wins
It is sad that because of the built-in in-state rivalry games with ACC opponenst, Florida and South Carolina are reluctant to schedule other quality OOC opponents, although this past year was an exception with South Carolina playing UNC and Florida playing Miami

Only opponent that might generate interest for LSU would be Florida St - that was a pretty good game LSU and FSU played back in the 80's - would not mind playing them periodically but some of the other matchups would not be all that appealing over a game in Dallas or Houston like in 2013 and 2014

I'd much rather play 9 SEC games than 8 and some ACC game.

Didn't read the whole thing, just skimmed over it, but I saw mentions of Notre Dame's new relationship with the ACC and the Big 12. I'd love for Bama to play ND/Texas a lot more often, and I think ESPN would agree. $$$

Bama will get Wake Forest
LSU will get FSU
LSU will get FSU

I think a series with one of the Oklahoma schools would be fun.

Stick with an 8-game schedule. 2 rotating. No permanent cross-div.
Or....
8-game schedule. 1 permanent cross-div opponent *AND* let only the divisional games dictate who makes it to the SECCG.
I don't like a 9-game schedule. Somehow, the SEC office will accidentally, year after year, schedule 5 home games for you-know-who.

A nine game schedule would be perfect for Florida and Georgia.

I'm sick and damn tired of the bridge schedule. Give us some continuity dammit.

Another schedule thread to bring out all the LSU whiners. Great.

I'd love UF to do the OOC games, but I understand why they wouldn't with UGA always being in JAX and rotating with FSU h/h. I'd be fine with 9 games, esp. if it means getting rid of 1AA teams (:inb4Georgiasouthern:).

True. I didn't think of that.

It would be better if they did ACC vs SECE and Big 12 vs SECW.
Alabama vs Oklahoma
Lsu vs Osu
ATM vs UT
Auburn vs Baylor
Ole Miss vs Texas Tech
State vs West Virginia
Arkansas vs Tcu
And throw Mizzou vs Kansas in there for rivalry
And in the east you have
Florida vs Fsu
Georgia vs Tech
USC vs Clemson
Kentucky vs Louisville
UT vs Virginia Tech
Vandy vs North Carolina

I'm more interested in the potential of a room-mate switch type proposal for the SEC
That would help us rotate through the conference in much more rapid order (only four years) and wouldn't even necessitate playing more than 8 regular season conference games.
