I feel like hiring Ron Cooper would make for a good time around here

ETA: He is from Huntsville and has prior head coaching experience. Would be the ultimate Jimmy rustle

He's not a great coach or recruiter.

I went to school with Ron's wife they are great people.... I saw him this summer and told him I was relieved when he left LSU....he got a laugh out of it

HELL YESSSS He took guys Tampa Bay signed off the street and made a decent to good secondary then was a sacrificial lamb for Schiano's shitty play calling on defense

I love Ron Cooper and I would absolutely love him to join the staff as even a co-secondary coach with Kirby and he's a GREAT recruiter (birthed the whole DBU movement at LSU). I also have a feeling he would take the job pretty quickly if offered.

If Saban would send Bobby Williams his girlfriend packing, you could bring Cooper in to be CB/ST and Kirby DC/S

The staff is already complete. Kirby back to DBs and Steele at ILBs.

You would then have a void at TE.
