I'm glad they held a signing event for him.

That was first class for Coach Saban and staff to make this happen for the young man.

Yeah it was. Itd be cool if he got a position within the team, helping out some way or another.

I love that Coach Saban doesn't flaunt this.

so his status is uncertain or will he not be medically able to play FB again? Either way it is a great story for the young man to get to Bama on a scholarship of any kind to work towards a degree.

He got several medical opinions and the injury was career ending. There was a short article from al.com about it this morning. Too lazy to find the link. It says he will be involved with the football team in some capacity.

Pretty sure he can't even comment on Shaw since he hasn't signed

I haven't been keeping up on 'crootin' this year, so I hunted down the story and here's the LINK

Cool story, but I thought Saban was a cold, heartless bastard, who simply processed non-performers? I believe tRant has some 'splaining to do!

Let 'em keep thinking that about NS. I'd much rather our rivals hate him than see the "Softer Side of Saban."

I agree it was a classy act but I find the perception of this situation interesting. It's being portrayed as this charitable act by CNS, but what sacrifice was made? The AD has to foot the cost of his schooling but he doesn't take up a spot in the signing class and we get all this positive publicity not to mention an in to one of the most talent-rich high schools in Georgia. Maybe I'm just too cynical.
