Rivals.com confirms that's the most in Rivals.com history.
FWIW LSU's 2014 class has 7 4* on defense.

Absolutely ecstatic about this class. We added depth, lateral speed, and size all across the board. Now hopefully Butch can coach them up.

We will see by 2015 if we have. Worst case scenario the table will be set for the next guy should Butch prove to suck.

Last year I think UGA had 11 4*'s sign, all defensive, and you saw where that got us.
109th in the nation.
It's good to have lots of quantity and quality, but they've got to be coached up and they've got to gain experience. They can't just rely on their talent like they have been throughout the course of their lives. Throw a bunch of 4 star freshmen into the fire on defense, in the SEC, and they are going to get burned.

As to 247 the numbers they are still wrong. Dews is a grey shirt and his status hasn't been updated in the total or in the rankings. We have 32 not 33.
