Also per a Derek Tyson interview with Cowart he knows where he is going and when asked what could change his mind he said building a relationship with the coaching staff and him and his mom. So sounds like Auburn is his destination with Florida #2.

If he knows where he's going before he visits Auburn I'd say his destination is Florida with Auburn #2.

UF is in a good position with Cowart. Let's see what he says after his momma visits with him on the 23rd.

If he knows where he's going before he visits Auburn I'd say his destination is Florida with Auburn #2.

The article is on ESPN which is something I dont have access to right now at work. But the way Cowart said it was he narrowed it down to three and he already knew where he was going to go and Then Derrick Tyson asked him if there was anything that the other two schools could do to change his mind and he said " Just building a relationship with coaches really, It really goes off my mom. And he wants his mom to feel confident and safe with it." Which to me implies a newer coaching staff which then would mean Florida since she knows muschamp.

Funny thing after this article was posted 247sports changed their destination for Cowart to Auburn.

Bottom line is, us as fans aren't really going to know much about Cowart until after the UF visit. UF is in just as good of shape as AU right now though.

I would imagine playing time would be something he would want the most if he plans to finish school in three years. He posted a picture on his twitter profile comparing the depth both UF and AU had at DL. Florida only had 12 guys at the position vs AU's 19.

Also, UF has a Top 10 Journalism College. He expressed getting his degree in Sports Broadcasting.

Honestly, I think people need to start preparing for a really crazy, but ultimately, disappointing close to the current recruiting cycle.

On Gatorcountry Insider Recruiting they are going to straight start slitting their own wrists come signing day. The sunshine pumping from the "insiders" there is RIDICULOUS.

These coaches just have too much ground to make up with their competition for these top players. It's ridiculous to think they're all going to just want to come to Florida just because it's Florida.

I agree to an extent. Temper expectations to a reasonable level. However, all the melting down over an interview, where we all know these kids tell half truths, is ridiculous. All the stuff coming out today was because an article from Derek Tyson at ESPN. I definitely believe some of the quotes, but Cowart has been trolling this entire process. No doubting he has a great relationship with Muschamp, but he likes Florida as a school the best. His mom is also very comfortable with him at UF. Now, the coaches just need to sell the mom on being comfortable with them. I know Byron really likes our new DL coach Williams. Just need to stay patient and see what takes place in the coming weeks.

Article of interview Byron did after todays visit with gator country. Highlights

“It was cool meeting Coach Williams,” Cowart said. “I mean he’s like my defensive line coach at Armwood now but I sign in three weeks so it’s a little late to try and get to know those guys.”

“His message was could I see myself playing for him at Florida,” Cowart said. “I don’t know if I could or not. I mean I know he coached in the NFL and that’s a good thing but I don’t know him really. I told him it wasn’t his fault that he was getting in so late but [Will] Muschamp, [Nick] Saban and Coach Tosh [Lopoi] have been recruiting me for years and I have a good relationship with those guys and Florida fired the guy I like, Coach Lawing, so yeah.”

“Yeah it sets Florida back some,” Cowart said. “I was supposed to visit Florida on the 23rd but we will see because I have to get back up to Alabama. It’s not going to be an official but it could be an unofficial. There is a chance I may not visit Florida. I may go to LSU on the 30th instead of Florida State.”

Relationships are in AU now. No doubt his mom loves UF though. Just have to work quickly to try and gain trust with he and his mom with the staff. It's a tough battle, but there's still time. If he comes on the visit, I'll still feel good.

Agree if he visits we have a chance if he doesnt we dont.Funny thing is he has said numerous times you committ to a school not a coach because coaches change. 3 weeks we still have time.

As far as Jefferson Ole Miss is his leader

Ivey is still a gator from what I hear which I think is the most important commit for us.

We are working on flipping some big time recruits right now. Just time is not on our side.

I have heard from sources that have contact with recruits and one recruit I talk with that Muschamp is saying we are a mess and that its a huge risk coming to UF. He kinda has a hand in the state of the program doesnt he.

Yeah. Our staff will point some things out to kids. Don't worry. McElwain seems like this "awww shucks" kind of guy to the public, but the guy is a laser beam behind closed doors. Just have to let the staff work over a 3 week period. Everyone should know this class would be an uphill battle, but this staff is special and can get work done in a short amount of time. Us as fans just need to bear with them.

Something weird was noticed on twitter this evening Cowart has started re-tweeting and favoring only pro auburn comments. And posted a reply to a lot of gators saying that Uf's journalism program is one of the best in the nation saying that all the schools he is looking at are good in journalism and he can graduate in 3yrs at any of them.

Unfortunately once you post it online its fair game. Like it was said when Lubick shows up in blue and orange I will care. Plus I included that it was from GatorCountry and put the link that's free advertisement. I could've said I did the interview.
