So I'm watching ESPNU, still, for some reason, according to their scroll the SEC next year looks like this:

Alabama: 7 O 5 D
Arkansas: 7 O 8 D
Auburn: 8 0 6 D
LSU: 5 O 7 D
Ms. State: 8 O 8 D
OM: 6 O 9 D
aTm: 6 O 9 D

Florida: 7 O 7 D
UGA: 5 O 10 D
Kentucky: 8 O 8 D
Carolina: 8 O 6 D
Mizzou: 5 O 4 D
Tenn: 5 O 5 D
Vandy: 7 O 3 D

What does it mean?

Reminds me of the old Lou Holtz line about returning a lot of experience but it not being good experience.

Means Bert maybe looking at two years and no sec wins unless we get our shite together by some miracle. Lots of young teams that beat our arse this year doesn't bode well

I think this is the year Ole Miss might break out and win between 8 and 10 games. That stellar recruiting class they had last year got a ton of PT and starts last year, and they arguably return the "best" QB in the SEC outside of Nick Marshall.

I'm afraid you're right, but our real hope for a turnaround is at QB. If we could get slightly above average QB play, improve play calling, and less boneheaded trick plays I would imagine we might sneak into a crap bowl.

We need a competent qb. If Allen wins the QB competition we might as well mail in next year and get ready for 2015. Decent qb and we get to 6 wins bad qb and well we all know how that goes

To be totally fair, he's no great shakes, but not having Allen pretty much singlehandedly cost us the Rutgers game, and our receivers absolutely not being able to hold onto the effing ball set up the LSU bed-crapping by the defense. I can't remember specifics, but we had something like 8 drops in that game, something like 5 of them would have been 3rd down conversions.

If the entire universe (insert #karma joke here) hadn't been against us in those two games, we probably would've been 5-7 in 2013 and our fan base wouldn't be losing its ever-loving mind about Bert like it didn't with Petrino in 2008.

It can be a Chicken/Egg argument between the QB and WR situation last year.

Bert added some good looking prospects at WR, the numbers are there for sure as we are not lining up 5 wide every play.

So do better WRs lead to the QB looking better? Did BA's injured shoulder effect him more than most want to believe last year?

Protection isn't going to be a problem, run game support isn't going to be a problem, if BA is the best QB on campus during the spring and remains the starter, I will not be surprised based on his experience compared to the others, doesn't mean the rest will not be good QBs in the future.

His shoulder had a lot to do with it, and if I was CBB, and he ever jumped into the endzone like that again, I would beat him like a red headed step child

No kidding.

Not to go full moron/Hogville/apologist, but if we'd have had him against Rutgers and won and therefore started 4-0, I honestly think we'd have had a decent shot of making a bowl.
