Just picked up a bottle. Any good or did I just fall for the cool bottle ploy?

It's a really cool bottle.

Don't know. If that's the case, Busters has a bunch.

My buddy who is a chef was telling me about a bourbon that started with a W that's around 50 bones or a little less maybe, that you can't find anywhere. He had gotten two bottles in Memphis. Figured it's the same thing you're talking about.

The only other W I know of is Woodford. Hopefully this will be good. It was a little over 55 for the 1.75l. I got the fifth.

Where is one of those Kentucky fans when I need one?

Probably talking about Pappy Von Winkle. Ridiculously hard to find.

Very drinkable. Easy to drink neat...but I didn't like it a lot. Cool bottle though.

There's literally a waiting list book at Busters for Pappy.

Both Kelly English restaurants have it though.

That Williet bottle looks like a bong.

It's worth the wait, trust me.

I'm pretty sure one of either Boure or City Grocery has it on their drink list too.

I've had it at Restaurant Iris. It's amazing.

I think I put my name down a year ago iirc. So maybe in 20 years I can have one.

If it is who I think it is, and pretty sure it is, Willett family were an old distilling family in Bardstown KY who made their own stuff generations ago and did sub work for some of the bigger brands out there. My understanding is the latest generation have made a big push back into bottling under their own name and brand so it should be pretty good.

I have never had Pappy before...but from what I have read on message boards if you go hunting for it at various liquor stores and hound people you could get lucky.

It goes for insane prices on auction sites. I have not read/heard anyone say it's worth the price that it is currently going for.

Someone who is now related to me through some chain involving re-marriages and siblings and cousins or some bullshite gave me a drink of that pappy's shite last year. It was tasty.
