And this is the week we've all been waiting for... The time where we obsess and overthink on the attire of teenagers

When it comes to violent offenses, yes I am. A bar fight is one thing, but hitting a woman or jumping, beating, and robbing an unsuspecting student does not qualify as a "youthful indiscretion" in my book.
When you quantify mistakes the way you just have it makes your point even less valid.
You literally just said it was okay to get drunk and fight (poor self-control, lack of emotional control, poor decision making) but it was not okay for the same teenager to fight a woman or student whether it is jumping or beating.
All of the above are the same damn thing; that is what you're avoiding.
It is a young man making a poor choice and not showing the right self-control or emotional control to make the right one.
Now the question is for those young men who can change to be an asset to society, someone has to not take the easy route and abandon them and support and help them to change to fulfill their potential.
I'm just glad our coach is one of those guys who isn't only after these kids for that one thing and actually wants to develop them as men and people.

I just want to win football games.

Then I'm sure you love Urben Meyer, because developing men seems to be the last thing he cares about.... but he'll win you a football game.

I'd love for everyone in the world to be a good person.
We don't need any straight thugs, but there is nothing anyone in the world can do that isn't forgivable. Not to get religious on ya, but if God sees it that way, I'm down. Second chances if the one receiving it is sincere in his effort.

@AndrewJBone: I asked #Alabama commitment @BlakeBarnett_8 who is recruiting this week. He didn't hesitate, "Damien Harris. Simple as that."

I wonder how often a regular student can be kicked out of his previous institution with a domestic violence arrest and then be admitted into school at Alabama? That'd be something interesting to take a look at if it were made public.

I agree with Sarc and if you think fighting someone in a bar that can actually fight you back is the same as a 300+ pound man beating a woman or several students jumping a helpless student you and I are on completely different pages. Yes both are crimes and I do not believe either should be excused or overlooked for a 2nd chance to get in to the program. But I have no respect for a crime committed especially one done in such a cowardly way. Neither Pettway nor Taylor should be part of this roster but as you mentioned we are not the coaches.
The other issue I have with some that support it are the ones that may actually believe Saban is doing it because he truly believes everyone deserves a 2nd chance is blind in my opinion because if these were non-productive players they would be gone with no after thought what so ever. And not one person would be on these sites complaining they deserved to another chance. Just like no one gets on here and complains that players get cut from oversigning that were not being productive.
Lets call for what it truly is. They are getting a 2nd chance because they can help the program win. And yes maybe in the end Saban can bring them around but again it is all about winning and nothing more.

Call it what it is the entire way around then.
The only reason why you have interest in any of these young men is because of what they can do and how they win Alabama football games.
If they didn't have this ability you could careless if they magna cum laude at Yale or another kid gunned down on the street.
Also, last I checked you don't know Saban to speak about how he feels. Some of us aren't only about "self" and want to help others. I am a person who has been helped so I seek to help; it's my way of giving back. If you and others can't identify with this, well okay, everybody has their own opinions.

Exactly I would not even know their names if they did not play football for UA but that does not mean they should not be held to a standard, the same standard Saban has used over the past 8 eight to dismiss players from the team which mostly happen to be players who did not contribute for the most part.
In regards to helping most these kids were given a 2nd chance the moment the NCAA created the sliding scale and universities allowed someone well below admission standards to still get in because of their athletic prowess. So now that we overlook that many of them got a 2nd chance just to get a top notch education and free at that, that many people will never be afforded the same luxury, people assume these players yet deserve another chance when they screw up.
And you are right I do not know Saban personally but yet many players for violation of team rules or behavior issues have been dismissed from the team. Maybe a player needs to have a felony arrest to be helped by our staff and given another chance.

Apparently Kiffin is still going after Cager. Says he's the perfect fit for the offense. Everyone's tied up there.
