Depends on your age I think. I am 35 so it would be creepy as frick and I should be arrested if I tweet or facebook message a 17 or 18 year old boy telling him to go to my alma mater.
If you are an 18 or 19 year old, i don't see much problem with it. The world is different and communication is different than when I was 18 or 19.
