How do you feel about taking a lower rated player just to get the 5 or 4 star bestfriend. It happens more than we realize. Is this why some schools are losing some top talent in state? Did they not offer some of these players close friends?

Its stupid. Id take two 4 stars or a 4 and a 3 over a 2 and 5 all day. If that 5 star doesn't pan out you might end up with 2 duds on scholly. Bama has never done it as far as I know and we could have landed Nkemdiche (possibly) if we were to offer a teammate or 2.

Ours usually don't make it very long a UGA when we do take them. They better be a damn stud if we do though.

You mean a Cootieship?

It depends on how much of a priority the 5* is and how good the friend is. I wouldn't ever burn a scholarship on someone you know could never contribute.

Bama is way too tricky for that. They go the 5 star and girlfriend scholly route.

Your right we took the number 84 player in the nation so we could get his buddies.

Depends. Schools like bama, UGA, UF, LSU, Texas A&M, (AU some years) don't need to do that for the most part.

However, the rest of league would be stupid not to.

Hell, Clemson almost landed Nkemdiche because of his teammates. Not sure we would have but would have been close.

We did it twice in the last 10 years.

2003: 3 star Red Bryant, 5 star Jorrie Adams

2005: 3 star Michael Bennett, 5 star Martellus Bennett.

Depends just how low rated. Some of these sidekick type guys end up being solid contributors. 2* would be a stretch unless it is a backup for someone else. If it is a 3*, extra schollie available and they can provide solid depth/some potential, I don't have a problem

Auburn isn't much for recruiting package deals but they aren't completely opposed to it.

Bama was not going to outdo Ole Miss with his brother there for RN. Ya'll crazy.

Yup

The "accessory offers" will be starting a week from today and are two of the better DL in the NFL. Who knows where Jorrie Adams is and Tellus will probably never fulfill his insane potential. I guess you could say both ours worked though certainly not as intended
