The seven-footer took an official visit to South Carolina on September 27th and recently named a top three of South Carolina, Loyola Marymount and Pittsburgh.
Basketball recruiting is such a weird process. Unless there is a talent out there that has a legitimate offer from all the true blue bloods of college basketball, almost all talents seem to be up for grabs. Those 3 alone are just at such different points on the basketball spectrum, and it seems to be a common theme among basketball recruits.
I guess its because teams are so much smaller that the wealth gets more dispersed but you have players that have offers from perennial tournament teams, schools you never see on TV, and then guys like us somewhere in the middle .. and the recruit is seriously considering all 3.

Yeah I don't really get the Loyola Marymount being apart of the decision just kind of seems out there, but I can understand the Pitt appeal, especially with them being in the ACC.

Finally updated target list for this current class, had been slacking on it lately.

Updated OP again with current targets future visits list (if they have any) & their top 3/5 lists if they have them.

Would be surprised if Rozelle Nix does not end up at Pitt.

Some news on Tevin Mack:

@sportstalksc: #STRecruiting Dreher's Tevin Mack said Friday no decision yet nor this weekend and he won't attend USC's exhibition game on Sunday.

Well apparently Dozier & Mack are both in the house:

@GCChrisClark: RT @GCRivalsGlenn: Gamecock recruits PJ Dozier and Tevin Mack are both in attendance for the basketball scrimmage this afternoon.

Both Dozier and Mack are reportedly attending the USC-Benedict exhibition today....

Bleh. Yeah, the Pitt guys on 247 said they would have been surprised if he wasn't coming to Pitt. Shame.

Looking way into the future, but I just saw this bolt on 247:
I believe I also saw The Captain from 560 tweet out that he was in attendance for our scrimmage today, along with a 2016 prospect. Name escapes me atm.
quote:
No prospect stood out more at the NC Phenom 150 Camp with his outstanding play than 2017 shooting guard Devontae Shuler.
6-3, 175-pounds from Columbia (S.C.) Irmo High School, Shuler is a high level competitor with a slashing/pursue the ball game and a non-stop motor. He relentlessly assaulted the rim, finishing with authority and drawing fouls.
Shuler told 247Sports that hometown South Carolina is recruiting him the hardest, and Stephen F. Austin has offered. He was also visited this fall by Clemson head coach Brad Brownell and assistants from Virginia, Wofford, Wake Forest and Texas.
Look for Shuler to jump into the 247Sports rankings in the coming days an for his recruitment to take off.

-- It’s getting down to crunch time for the Gamecocks' two top hoops targets. Perry Dozier Jr. (Columbia/Spring Valley) was in for his visit this past weekend and was really blown away by the love and attention he felt on his visit... Dozier's biggest concerns with USC have always been the direction of the program and the support level. Gamecock fans showed how hungry they are for a winner on the hardwood with the turnout on Sunday and South Carolina has done everything they possibly could to try to prove to Dozier they are ready for him to take them to new heights.
We felt good about USC's chances going into the weekend as South Carolina has been trending for a while and we continue to hear tremendous things surrounding Dozier. His desire is to stay close to home and the opportunity he has to have a lasting impact is greater here than any of his other finalists.
quote:
Also on hand for the game on Sunday was 2015 Tevin Mack (Columbia/Dreher). Mack took his official visit last weekend and the word is he was expected to make an announcement any moment. However, Mack has backed off of that and says he has no timetable for a decision.
As one person said to me last week, this is one of the toughest reads in a very long time. As I said last week, the only one of his five finalists that he would commit to and I would be surprised at this point is Clemson.

Some more news somewhat-related to Tevin Mack.
4* SG Chris Clarke will be announcing his college decision on Thursday. Reason that's important? He's UConn's biggest target, if he commits to them UConn will lay off Tevin Mack. Giving us 1 less team to compete with for him.
Clarke is leaning towards VT atm, UConn is his presumable number 2.

Will be happy to get him, even if it's through our back door.

According to the experts crystal ball predictions on 247:
The Gamecocks were at 9% a few days ago.
It's now up to 37%, would be a huge get for the program.
ETA: According to UofL's and Hoyas 247 this recruiting battle will come down between Georgetown & us. UNC is falling out of the race.
