PJ Dozier is officially a McDonalds All American. It's the first Carolina recruit to be a McDonalds All American since Ronaldo Howell in 2000

... and Bowel was a bust for Dave Odom.

Dozier is a much more polished player and better all-around person.

Gamecocks to meet with Transfer Guard out of Seton Hall

quote:

According to ESPN.com basketball writer Jeff Borzello, South Carolina is scheduled to meet with Seton Hall transfer Jaren Sina, who announced in February he was leaving the program. Sina decided to leave Seton Hall because of internal strife within the program.

Sina, a sophomore, would likely have to sit out next season but would have two years of eligibility remaining. A three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite coming out of high school, Sina was a three-time All-State guard who scored 2,146 points and handed out 861 assists at Gill St. Bernard's. This season with the Pirates, he was averaging 7.0 points and 2.5 assists per game.

We got a new commit today, 3* C, Travon Bunch. He was originally part of the '14 class, but didn't qualify and went to Georgia Prep and then Score Academy this year. 6'11" 230 lbs. He's signing with the '15 class in April, so he'll be here next year with Dozier and Silva. He played AAU ball with the ATL Celtics.

He had offers from Iowa St, tenn, aTm, DePaul, marquette.

Here are some highlights

Martin's people really getting it done with recruiting and filling the need for another big man.

Also, going to be interesting to see if Henry and Blackshere are allowed to return.

ETA: WOW! This kid has skills for a big man. He's got serious potential.

-- South Carolina is on the hunt for another scorer in this recruiting class and one of those players is shooting guard Malik Ellison (Voorhees, N.J./Life Center Academy), who is the son of former NBA great Purvis Ellison. The 6-foot-6 scorer broke his leg last summer and his recruitment is picking up a little bit now that he’s been back on the court and shown he’s fully healthy.

He was offered by the Gamecocks on the 8th

Per Adam Zagoria on ZagsBlog.com, South Carolina will receive an official visit from Seton Hall transfer guard Jaren Sina. A date for the visit was not given though.

"[The] biggest thing is that they know I’ve played at a high level and played significant minutes,” Sina said, according to ZagsBlog. “I can bring a certain leadership to their program. They also need a shooter, someone who can run the point position but also come off different types of screens for shots and create for my teammates.”

According to the story, Sina is also considering Michigan, Stanford, Boston College, Rhode Island, George Washington and Binghamton, among others. Sina took an official visit already to Binghamton, a school in New York where his sister plays basketball.

South Carolina head coach Frank Martin had an in-home visit with Sina recently and convince him to take an official visit. The 6-foot-2 guard will have to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Jamal Gregory will decide on his commitment at the latest by Wednesday. It's between us and Kansas State for him.

Interesting. If anyone knows the K-State program, it's Martin.

Really impressed with the work his staff has put in on the recruiting trail this season.
