Kudos to Auburns gritty season!

BUT, they easily could've been 9-3 playing in a non-BCS bowl. UGA had that game won.....Bama was careless and most of us wouldve had our money on them in OT.

So, all the statements of them being the top team next year are seriously flawed. Gimmicks are good for one solid year. Next year defenses will have closed the gap significantly as well.

State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, all 4 could have won

I have to agree and while I don't expect a top five Auburn team next year a top ten team is likely. Auburn is for real.

One thing's for certain their offense will be light years better than the pathetic display LSU will trot on the field.

couldn't you say most teams could have had a different record, given a change in events? for instance we could have been 14 - 0 as well.

You seem a little scared, nice of you to mitigate it with this post though.

Auburn is good ......and are back to a standard that is good for the SEC. I'm just saying the anointing of them as top dog is hasty due to a fluky season.

Man, gotta love the angry children posting when they don't hear what they want . I'm a grown up and my life is not linked to a college football teams success, so scared I am not. Just tossing up a point for discussion. Choads.

One of these doe not fit.

To the OP coulda woulda shoulda.

While we are speaking hypotheticals, how badly does Auburn beat LSU if they play late in the year as opposed to early?

I'm sorry that Auburn beat all 3 teams that beat you last year. Congrats on your one signature win over them. Hope you are prepared for the beatdown coming in Jordan-Hare this year. Good luck in your teams quest to be 4th in the SECW this year.

I agree with everything.

But my public answer must be: melt, melt, melt.

Cam Cam is the best. He manufactured 24 points for the Tiger offense against OM's 2nd string defense.

They played within the rules, and won the games. I fully expect the same from them next year.

Football has always been a "woulda coulda shoulda" sport - Auburn did it.

Well LSU did beat them (one loss). UGA and Bama were on the edge of beating them (two more losses). A&M probably beats them if Manziel doesn't go down or if the refs actually call the blatant horse collar (one more loss). AU beat MSU with like 20 seconds left (another loss).

AU COULD have realistically had 5 regular season losses. The fact is, though, they only had ONE. That's to their credit and it shows the growth of that team in one year. The 2012 team would have lost all of the above games. No doubt.

We also easily could have been national champs.

Thats the other 'reality'

but the real 'reality' is we were 12-2, won the sec and lost the title game.

What are these gimmicks? Running the ball? are we the only team that runs misdirection with our runs?
