You can see the arm talent. Keep in mind all of these snaps are with the second and thrid string guys also. Looks like he needs to work on his timing and touch on the deep ball, but the arm talent is undeniable

Big arm is there, the athleticism and running ability is there.
He gets a lot of passes batted at the line it would seem, and his footwork needs work. He doesn't always direct his feet to the target.
Overall, he looks good, just need to fine tune his footwork. If he starts, he'll be brought along slowly, I think. The potential is there, but to me in those games it looked like he was playing to try and showcase what he could do (knew he'd transfer) rather than focus on execution.

again, he's playing with a bunch of backups in that video. Back up receivers, back up offensive linemen, all second and third string guys.
And if you compiled a video like that for sims, morris, and bateman it would leave you more unimpressed

Backup OL is the key here. He did miss on some of those WRs, again it goes back to his feet. That said, if he was throwing to Kelvin Benjamin, Rashad Greene, Kenny Shaw, and Nick O'Leary (or Amari Cooper, DeAndrew White, Christion Jones, and OJ Howard??) he would have looked more impressive.
I was fairly impressed with the video. Arm/athleticism is there, footwork is something AJ struggled with too early on, but he shored it up and when he wasn't about to get popped he was putting on a clinic on how QBs use their feet in the pocket.

agree with what is being said by others but would add that he locks onto his target early and still forced several throws. That will need to be fixed our he could end up being Bama's version of the former LSU "pick six" QB. (Mauck?)

looked better in the actual games than in the spring game. receivers had some drops and tips that arent on coker. big arm, can throw on the run, has wheels. looks a little inaccurate down field. will be an interesting race in the spring.

Pick 6 was Jarret Lee, who would have won the game for them on 1/9

When he steps into his throws he has a hose but he looked like dog shite in that spring game. Granted he went against lamarcus Joyner, pj Williams, and Karlos Williams while getting pressures by that nfl dline Jernigan Edwards Goldman

I think it will be. The upside here is if he stays for both of the two years he has, he'll be good in 2014 and elite in 2015. Saban doesn't specifically coach QBs, obviously, but he did a lot in the film room with AJ. AJ left here with insane football IQ, he didn't come in that way, or was he really that was in 2011. Kiffin coaching him will do a lot of good for him. Overall, Saban will force feed it into his head to not force many balls.
If he hits his stride around midseason though, look out.

Like his arm and mobility. Average accuracy. Biggest issue I saw was locking in on receivers.
Once he's coached up I think he has the tools to be what we need him to be. Assuming he wins the starting job, I'd look for him to be a game manager 1st year like GMAC and AJ were in their 1st years and maybe more of a playmaker 2nd year.

I'm surprised (not anyone here) that there are some guys out there who legitimately seem to loathe Coker for no real objective reason. Bama fans too. They hate the fact that he's coming.
