I'd say theres a difference between busts and idiots. Guys like Perrilloux and Crowell were good when they played, they were just dumbasses.

For Alabama - Tyler Love, Burton Scott, Eddie Williams.

Chris Donald may be the biggest 5 star bust of all time. Kid could barely get on the field at UT outside ST, transfers to DII UT Chattanooga, and then quits football entirely. Feel bad for the kid. Met him through a friend of mine from his hometown and seemed like a really nice guy, just an incredibly misevaluated player.

I can't tell you how bad I wanted him, and IIRC UGA and bama were his final 2. I thought he was a sure fire, can't miss OT. What the heck happened to that guy? I don't remember hearing a word about him after he signed.

I'd say almost the entire top 18 for the class of 2007 from jimmy clausen who was supposed to be the LeBron of football to Chris Donald were all vastly over rated.
#1
Jimmy Clausen QB
Westlake Village, CAOaks Christian
Called a “10-year prospect†by many who cover California high school football, Clausen has put up gaudy statistics and won a state championship as a senior. What gets lost with all the talk of leading Notre Dame to the promised land and 60-plus touchdowns in a season, is that Clausen has serious football tools to back up the hype. He has a strong arm, an extremely quick release and razor sharp accuracy. He’s got excellent size and a good frame for a college or pro quarterback. His presence in the pocket and the feel he has for the game are very advanced for a high school player. You combine that with his physical tools and it’s obvious that he’s special.

Didn't read the thread, but our two glaring ommisions are BJ Scott and Tyler Love. Scott had the talent but couldn't learn the intricacies of the corner spot. Alonzo Lawrence is another one in the same boat as Scott

Before I even clicked the link I said to myself. Brandon Miller better be on that list. .

He graduated and gave up football after his junior year with 2 NC rings.
He came in the class of 2008, medical reshirt for his freshman year after playing one game and getting hurt. He was a backup OT in his Redshirt freshman year. Played a few games the next two years hurt.
quote:
He played in six games in 2009, five in 2010, and two last season, against Kent State and Tennessee, despite another chronic problem.
“I have a damaged neck, a little banged-up neck, bad L4,” Love said. “I have a little crack in that. I think I’ve had it for like a year-and-a-half, but I found out after the national championship game.
