Muschamp and T-Rob brought a ton of energy to their recruiting efforts

Who are we hosting as a surprise midweek visitor?

Whatever happened to the fifth lineman prospect we were hosting this week that Buchanan mentioned?

They're selling Jeremy Johnson as the next coming of Cam Newton. I'm sure they haven't mentioned that Auburn hasn't had a quarterback throw for 3000 yards in nearly 20 years, while we've had one do it 6 or 7 times under Mark Richt.

To be fair, Johnson's strength is his arm and his accuracy. I expect them to throw the ball as much, if not more than us this year. If not more, then I'd expect them to have more explosive plays.

Just to try and help me understand how many spots we have available and to keep it out of the other thread on the recruiting board, what are we looking at?

We know we can take 30, possibly 31 I've read in some places if I recall correctly. We currently have 26 commitments not including Ganus.

This article states that he counts toward the 25 limit:

quote:

Ganus will be count as part of Georgia's 2015 signing class, as well as the 85 scholarship limit.

As does this article:
quote:

The six transfers have enrolled and will count against the 25-man limit that Georgia State can sign when the period begins Feb. 4.

Another poster on a different forum linked these articles. Can't take credit for digging through all of this.

Thus, it sounds like Ganus puts at 27 right now.

At this point, I've stopped trying to calculate where the numbers come from. I just know that Lowndes has said 30-31, and we're recruiting way too many people for there only to be three spots.

Probably a good policy and I agree. I just don't see anyway that we can ONLY have three spots left even though that's what the numbers seem to suggest. We'll find out in a week I guess.

So Chris Williamson is taking his last visit to Florida? What's up with that?

If he doesn't visit us, then we aren't getting him. I'd say we're toast.

Georgia never gets players from Gainesville. It's like McEachern

Just looking over the top ranked players in the state, and assuming we land Roquan, we did pretty well this cycle:

9 of the top 17 per 247 Composite.

Missed on:

Hyatt - Clemson - legacy
Chuma - USC - Miss
Preston Williams - UT - Miss, but we know this guy has issues. Something tells me this one won't hurt in a few years.
Taj Griffin - Oregon - Looks like we are not taking a HS RB this cycle, can't really consider this a miss.
Arden Key - Undecided - Miss, unless something crazy happens and we land him.
Chidi - Undecided - He was ours prior to Bobo and Friend leaving. Doubt he qualifies this year and we will likely recruit him again during the 2016 cycle.
Mekhi Brown - Bama - Miss
Eric Swinney - OM - Same for him as with Taj

4 guys out of the top 17 that we realistically could have. Preston Williams doesn't sting much given our WR haul. Key doesn't sting as given we landed Walker. I'm a little butthurt about Chuma and Brown, but you can't get them all.

No reason to be butthurt about Chuma..we don't offer the major he wanted so he eliminated us with that.

Georgia never really recruited Brown. I think they'll pretty much steer clear of Carver as long as Richt is the coach

Not true. Georgia had him flipped after he visited but he changed his mind for whatever reason.

True, I would assume our staff feels rather ambivalent toward Carver.
