Rusty said on the Seth and Gentry podcast that Schotty will visit with Slayton and likely be a big reason he sticks. Said Schotty has been a huge hit with parents in particular.

I think Godwin and Slayton both stick with UGA. They are just enjoying the free visits and pampering IMO.

awesome news!

In his interviews it was easy to see how he has done quite well for himself. I can only imagine how good he is at recruiting with how genuine he seems and how intellectual his thoughts are projected. No surprise he's known as a great teacher in football circles.

FWIW...I punched Smith, Allen, McGraw & Buchanan into the 247 calculator & those would give us an 10.5 point boost into 3rd place...

lol

I've played with those numbers too. But I have to consider what other additions teams in the top 10 will also receive.

It's better to get a hypothetical final total, then compare it to team rankings from the last couple years as a proxy for how teams will finish.

Ex. If a team came in 5th with 285 points last year, the 5th place team this year would likely have roughly the same total.

Doing that puts us around 4th or 5th...

Rusty said this AM that we finish 4th if everything goes right. Maybe 3rd if things go wrong for some other teams.

Bama, FSU, and USC will be the top 3 barring a meltdown from one of them

Carvell has a quote from Buchanan that was interesting ...

quote:

“He [Richt] said they have a guy coming in for a midweek visit. He said there is one more spot left because Sam Madden (an offensive lineman from New Jersey) has committed. He said they’re trying to take five, and they already have four. He said because Sam committed, there’s one spot left and they have a midweek guy coming in.

“Coach Richt told me that so I could be aware of the situation. He said if I take another visit next weekend and the midweek guy commits to UGA, then I wouldn’t have a spot there."

Do we have a silent OL commit? Or a DL commit who'll switch to OL? Maybe Allen is already in the fold?...hmmmmmm....

Lowndes alluded to the coaches knowing where they stand with Allen. He said they had the "shite or get off the pot" discussion

I guess that could go either way but looking at other info, I think he's UGA

May be Boulware or Harrell if I had to guess. Hard to imagine some other big name guy sneaking in, unless it's Chidi (but I think he already took his OV?)

Agreed. This staff isn't going to be waiting around, holding their jock on NSD (we fans may be, but we don't matter). They'll have shite locked in and speeches prepared come next Wednesday

Isn't Chidi classified as a 2016 again now??

I think that was the assumption, that he'd go back to 2016, but I don't think anything official has been decided. Apparently he is no longer a take for Bama due to their roster #s so it'd be us or Auburn if he goes 2015 (and that's assuming he is academically able).

Interesting..I assumed as soon as Friend left so did our chances of landing him. Mainly because that's what he said..I guess he's Auburns to lose for 2015 then. I'd be happy with Allen and Buchanan since i'm still of the mind that Seymour will not make it with his grades and classes. OL looked like it could be in trouble but it could turn out to be damn strong with a good finish here.

Well, Friend leaving hurt but what really screwed us was Letson jumping ship. Letson was a really solid recruiter for us during those on-campus visits. There's a reason that the new guy is now making something like $150k. We don't want to be left holding our dicks again because our DPP took off for another job after not even a year.

Also, by way of secking on FSF, this is from VolNation:

quote:

Mike DeBord will be announced the new OC of Tennessee Vols on Monday. DeBord really impressed Butch Jones during the interview and Butch seems to like DeBord's vision for UT's offense.

Azzani will reportedly leave regardless of if he gets CMU job or not. He isnt very pleased with not getting serious consideration for the job.

Charlie Baggett is in consideration for return to Volunteer staff again.

If you want to know source of this information, wait until tomorrow afternoon when DeBord is announced and few days until other two are verified.

If that's the case, good chance Preston Williams signs with UGA imo. Them pissing Azzani off would be worse for them with Williams than if Azzani just left for another job
