Just got off the phone with Rivals analyst Adam Friedman to see if he knew about the situation of five-star Josh Sweat coming over on a visit by himself for the FSU official visit. Friedman said he actually knew about this before he even did his Insider notes this week, but said it wasn't a big deal or anything important he decided to leave it out.
The reason he is coming by himself is because it would be nearly impossible for the family to make the trip and drive because they would have to get up at 2 or 3 in the morning. It had nothing to do with any bad feelings or concerns about FSU.
Friedman said this is not a big deal at all. In fact, I'm told FSU has already talked to the family about any concerns on these supposed articles to trash Florida State and there aren't concerns about it and that has been cleared up. If the family could make it I'm told they would from a separate source.

Re: young Josh Sweat. Any parent that would let their kid go to FSU should be charged with child abuse. I don't know how you "address the concerns" when the concerns have to do with your coach and program being rotten to the core.

Ronnie Harrison appears to have fallen victim to "the hard sell" from Saban. He will not be visiting Athens today and going to Tuscaloosa instead; per his twitter account.

We see it time and time again.

So true. It is what makes Saban the best in the recruiting business.

Don't think too many other programs could pull off the "if you visit anywhere else, you lose your spot here" threat. High school players seek his approval

There is some chatter on our 24/7 site that Harrison may be throwing out smokescreen and still be heading up to Athens instead. Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Rusty has not commented on subject.

Makes me want to puke. At least CNS has hardware to back it up. When Turkey Neck tried that shite, I nearly choked on my drink. "The Johnson Doctrine." What a joke.
There really should be something in place to prevent an offering coach from effectively blackmailing a kid just because he wants to look around. It's shameful that part of Bama's lauded recruiting prowess comes from manipulating 17 yo high school boys. That's Penn State's job.

Honestly, the kid and his parents should just know better. Keep in ind, you don't hear about the times that these kids tell him to kick rocks and they go on their visits anyway. Not everyonefalls for this ploy, and to their credit if it works then why not use it?

I agree that common sense tends to take a flying leap when these parents start dealing with the Bama recruiting machine, and that's totally on them. It would be nice to know how often Saban gets a hold of a mom/Dad who knows what's up ad tells him, "Look, frickers, y'all came after my kid, not the other way around."
I might also be better about the practice if Pruitt was unleashed and was able to employ it to our benefit. There's no way the Right Reverend will let that fly, however.

I see where Saban is coming from. If they are going to hold a scholarship for you and you tell them you're committed you're committed. If you're unsure don't commit.
