Just curious if anyone keeps up with it? Any expectations for the team? I want to come down in May and watch the Tigers play in Blue Bell.

think quite a few of us do but I'd guess dabo is the one that follows closest

As for expectations, I'd say Childress needs to get to a super with this squad. The pitching is there so if we don't it's hitting and there's not a lot of patience for our offense at this point

It was last year, gotta get some runs to help out the pitching this year.

Dafuq is baseball?

And yes, dado is the main man for that. Still need to break bread with him since he lives right down the road from me

Dabo is by far the most knowledgeable but several of us keep up with it. You should definitely come for a game. Blue Bell is very nice and the atmosphere for LSU late in the year should be good. I'm expecting a similar type of year as last year for us. 2 seed and bow out in regionals. I'm hoping some of the changes for 2015 lead to more offense for everyone

We should have the type of pitching depth where a deep run is possible though if we get hot. Never know. I'll be pleasantly surprised with a super appearance

I don't follow baseball as closely as the other major sports, but I plan on catching a game at Olsen Field this year. Old habits die hard and I'd prefer to call the place by its original name.

Blue Bell Park at Olson Field just doesn't have the same ring to it, I guess.

To those in the know, should we reasonably expect the offense to improve from last year?

I haven't followed it closely for a few years but am making a conscience effot to change that this year.

Hell yes I keep up with it.

Expectations are somewhat high. We didn't do all that well last year (34 wins and a 2 seed), but we return a ton of pitching. We should be set at Fri(Mengden), Sat(Ray), & Sun(Long) starter, and closer(Jester). We return 3 of our top 4 hitters plus we have some juco talent coming in. So I would say we should be competing for a regional host, but probably not a national seed unless the bats really take a big step forward.

The LSU weekend will be one of, if not they, biggest weekend at Olsen. Get your tickets as soon as they go on sale or be prepared to pay a lot more. The renovation was beautifully done. The exterior is the best in the SEC. The club is very nice as well. Way nicer than I ever expected at a college baseball stadium. Overall is ranks up there with the rest of the big boys (LSU, ARK, USC, etc) but maybe just a little smaller.

If you have any questions about the team, stadium, etc let me know and I'll help you out.

Thanks to everyone. I am looking at the seating chart now. I will be with an Aggie and would like to sit in section 111 or 112. Would it be difficult to get tickets?

Since the 12th Man Foundation took over ticketing, I don't know what the hell is going on. I had a friend who tried for years (pre-renovation) to get a season ticket downstairs. He was always told it was full.

A few years went by, and some unpopular things happened along with a tripling of season ticket prices. Attendance fell about 30%. They still told my friend there wasn't an available seat downstairs for him.

We finally started asking any strangers sitting with us how they had gotten their tickets. They were buying them walkup. Sold out my arse! I still don't know their motivation though.

Attendance has gone back up post renovation, but it's now a soft crowd downstairs. They made up for the locals that Bill Byrne pissed off by selling those seats to businesses, which means a lot of empty seats downstairs, even though they have been sold. I suspect you'll either have to sit upstairs, which are great seats, BTW, or look at something like Stubhub. The Athletic Dept encourages fans to use something called Flash seats to resell unneeded tickets. I know nothing about it though.

FWIW I had season tickets for about 10 years in the upper deck right underneath the announcers booth and loved my tickets.

If you want the most out of your experience buy general admission and get to the game super early. Sit in the middle of the students and have thick skin.

This Cards' fan's ears perk up anytime I hear A&M and pitching in the same sentence.
