Basketball is 3-1 after today. Next 2 games are @Vandy and vs State. Pretty good chance we get to 5-1 to start conference play.

I think AK is starting to put players in roles. Millinghouse is now a role player and playing minimal minutes (thank god), Saiz has overtaken Cox as our 2nd big man and Perez seems to be our 1st guy off the bench. I'm still not sold on Perez though. He played well today but I'm convinced it is because USCe had a Venzuelan on their team and he wanted to play better than his countrymen.

This team is deeper than last years. I love the scoring ability of Marshall and Summers offensively and then you have a good night from someone else (Snoop, Perez, Saiz) and you have a pretty solid team. I don't think we are top notch but if out bigs can stay out of foul trouble we will be in every game we play. We have been all year.

I still think we end up on the outside looking in come March but this team is starting to come together.

We were extremely thin last year. Perez was our 3rd big after AJ went down. AJ Saiz Cox Colbey and Perez give us more bodies and we aren't screwed if one of our bigs got into fouls trouble like last year.

We many not beat Vandy but we will be in the game late at least. I guarantee it.

I thought that was the case as well. Him and Carrera were going back and forth all day.

What's his deal? Every time he touches the rock he drives straight to the hole looking for contact and gets stuffed. He could be valuable if used correctly but I would've thought this issue would be in check by now. He is our third leading scorer though and one of three averaging double figures (10.6)

Vanderbilt is basically on par with the rest of the league: play like shite on the road but will be a tough out at home. They got handled easily today in Baton Rouge so I'd imagine we see them come to play in Nashville

I agree with that. It basically comes down to taking care of business against teams who we should beat and getting a signature win against Florida (At the Tad Pad) or Kentucky (Home and Home). You also have to factor possibly making a run in the SEC tournament. Pencil Mercer and State as w's and we're 14-3 heading into the bulk of conference play

Brando said SEC gets 5 to 6 teams in to NCAA with us on the bubble. He said we need to get to 12-4 in the league.

5 to 6 teams? That would be surprising. Looking like we would be lucky to get 4 in at the moment.

Yup. Teams will look more and more mediocre the closer we get to tourney time.

Probably. Florida and Kentucky with maybe Missouri sneaking in there.

Mizzou's loss last night was a bad one for their resume.

Yeah, they are iffy as well. They only play Kentucky and Florida once each though. So that may save them. It may come down to the third team having to win the SEC tournament to get in again.

That's pretty much what I'm hoping we can do. Just let Henderson have his coke back for that weekend and let him tear shite up. It will be close enough to the end of the season that we can just stop "drug testing" him.

We looked really good tonight. We got up early and stayed ahead by 6-10 the whole game even with Henderson only being 1/8 at one point. Perez played another good game and AJ is becoming a force down low. Snoop played well again too. Need to take care of business Sat though to keep the momentum.

To have a shot at the dance I feel like we're gonna have to go 14-4 in league play or something ridiculous like that because of how bad the SEC is

Every one of our losses was by a possession or so. Really sucks because take away any one of those losses and I feel like we would have had a decent shot.

Two more wins and we'd be sitting pretty. Our RPI wasn't horrible before the bad losses.

The game this weekend could seal our fate. Win and we are a lttle closer to being on our way, but another bad loss and at home will do us in more than likely.
