Playing hurt basically the whole year in 2013. He got hurt in the opener vs Clemson and only played the first quarter. Then in week 4 vs LSU he had the serious ankle injury that he is still suffering from and having surgery this offseason.

2013 Stats.... (got my numbers from espn and did the math with win8 calculator)

6.0 yards per carry is tied with a healthy TJ Yeldon.

Gurley's longest of the year was 75. The second longest was 30. His season YPC stat isn't skewed with very many breakaway field burners.

When Gurley touched the ball, he scored a touchdown 8% of the time (16 touchdowns divided by 202 carries+receptions)

Tre Mason's TD to Touch ratio was 7%.
Jeremy Hill.......................7.2%
TJ Yeldon........................ 6%
Mike Davis........................4.6%
Alex Collins......................2%

I could buy this.

That RB from Bama who broke out against Oklahoma may give him a run for the title though next year.

TJ yeldon is a 3rd string back in first string's clothing. I will say a healthy gurley is a sight to see especially from 2012's SECCG. But we'll see. I guess I will say a healthy gurley is the best back. But like I said, we need to see him after injury to truly tell. Some guys never get fully recovered from certain injuries.

Agree and not to mention that a significant part of the success of any RB is the quality of his OL. Ours is not exactly what you would call dominating.

Gurley is a stud, and when healthy, the best RB in the nation, imho.

He had a bad limp every game after week 4 and still put up numbers. Beast mode (on) off

Mason had a good year due to the offense he played in, but I don't think he's the same caliber as Gurley or Hill even.

Yet Peyton Barber, CAP or Roc will still outrush him this year

The guy fought for a lot of his yards. Did you even watch the games? He made many top notch runs on individual effort alone. This whole "it's the offense" argument is beyond stupid. The same could be said about any RB for any team.

We do know two things for sure though:

- He is of higher character than Hill.

- He is more durable than Gurley.

I don't think it's a stretch to say he wouldn't have gotten that many yards if he played in an offense like LSU or Georgia.

Hill and Gurley are better, and the draft will agree.

If a defender diving at full speed rolled on Mason's ankle at the end of a play, it wouldn't have snapped any ligaments because Mason's ligaments are stronger?

Gurley had 222 carries in 2012 and never got hurt. It's not a pattern of injury like Lattimore. It was one play where an LSU defender hit him out of bounds and rolled his ankle (innocently... not saying LSU did something dirty... just shite luck)

I absolutely think it is. He rushed for 1,000 last year on that abortion of a thing AU called a team.

That's an opinion, some believe Mason to be more valuable overall. Gurley is suspect because he is injury prone, and Hill is suspect because of behavioral issues. Hill and Mason will be drafted neck and neck, and it could go either way.

No one is going to listen to you if you keep talking out of your arse and sounding like an idiot. This statement right here is a fricking farce.

By the way, Tre Mason isn't in the SEC anymore.

Why? It's not a slight towards Gurley. Ankle injuries are notorious for having lingering effects.
