I doubt it has to do with what he feels his chances are of starting. He was the only freshman QB who traveled with the team last season. Has to be something personal: doesn't like Kiffin, doesn't like Ttown, family issues, etc...

I don't think a 3rd string QB now # 2 with only Sims to beat out would be leaving unless he “ knows ” another QB is coming in.

He walked on at Bama despite 6 scholarship QBs and by some accounts rose to 3rd string in 1 year. I don't see him being scared off by the possibility of a transfer coming in in 4 months.
