Ok so LSU got it from SU (southern university) and now almost if not all the SEC is swagger jacking, just heard ARK playing it at the BBall game.

Yea not sure why exactly LSU acts as though it's theirs...like you said, lsu stole it from someone, who stole it from someone, who stole it from someone, who stole it from Cameo.
South Carolina has played it for years also. LSU incorporated an arm wave and a vulgar chant and all of the sudden they believe anyone else that plays it is "stealing it"

I believe I heard that our current band director came here from LSU. I don't keep up with these things so that might not be accurate but I swear I've seen it on one of our boards before.
ETA: Just looked it up and he received his masters degree from LSU.

I was at the Texas vs. Ole Miss game in Austin this year and the UT band played it too..STTDB.

I've been to Arkie games when they've played Neck. Their fans don't do anything during the song. As an LSU fan at their game, I'll wave my hand to the music.
Now if they play it when LSU visits Bud Walton in Feb., I'll be there waving my hand and singing STTDB!
I sing loud enough so that their Dean of Students has to draft a letter to the student body about the use of vulgar lyrics during band performances at games.
