I am going to start traveling to Lexington a pretty good bit over the next year for work. What are the must dos and best places to eat? I am staying at the Hilton downtown. So, I would like also like to know what is within walking distance. TIA

Well, Rupp is right there.

You could walk to Commonwealth. There are a couple of really good craft breweries, though only one was open when I left. Rent a car and head out into the countryside. Beautiful thoroughbred farms and bourbon distilleries.

This place. Go here. It's not nearly as small as it looks in this picture.

The Liquor Barn was my place back in the day.

I lived like half a mile from there and spent many hours browsing the hundreds of craft beer choices.

That it is. There are some amazing craft beer stores here in Atlanta, but they're not on the level of the Liquor Barn.

I will check it out. I am a beer nerd, so I will probably love it.

Lots of local shops in the Rupp complex, and several local restaurants in the area, all within walking distance to the Hilton.
They are just starting construction on a new high rise hotel and office complex a block over, so lots of construction traffic for the next year or so.

If you are here during Keeneland, that would be fun, or if during BBall season, walk over and catch a game.

I assume you are referring to the Downtown Hilton, and not the Hilton at Lexington Green.

There are dozens of great places withing walking distance of the Downtown Hilton. Dudley's, Cheapside, Parlay Social, Village Idiot, Table Three Ten, Bellini's, Harvey's, McCarthy's Irish Bar, Molly Brooke's Irish Bar, Sidebar, A La Lucie, Shakespeare's, Henry Clay's Public House, Belle's, Atomic Cafe, Johnathan's at Gratz Park, Saul Good, Bluegrass Tavern, Skybar.....just tons of stuff.

Also within walking distance, but a little further, is the Limestone Corridor, which is the center of UK student nightlife. Two Keys, Tin Roof, Pazzo's, Hugh Jass Burgers, Local Taco, and a lot more.

Keeneland is a must. Spring meet April 5-25.

Been here all week. I just got in from an amazing dinner at Jonathan's. It was the best meal I have had in a while.

Lexington has some great restaurants for city this size. I also liked Local Taco and The Village Idiot.

If you're gonna be there on Saturday go to Pazzo's. It's Pint Night. Buy a pint, keep the glass. Looks like Duvel is the beer of the night so it'll be a really nice glass.
