Should be interesting to see how he rationalizes leaving FSU after just 1 year on the job. There must have been something either compelling about the situation at Georgia or pretty negative related to FSU for him to leave FSU right after winning a NC.

Where else is there to go? He inherited talent and won it all now was the time to leave. At UGA he can say he built it.

I can see it being because he proved himself as a coordinator in the ACC, but now he wants to compare himself to the big boys! I mean he was in the SEC once already, only as a DB coach though. Now it's his turn to show out in the league

Seriously! And who goes through life with the last name "Pruitt"? Strike two, IMO.

He got paid $540k/year at FSU. He's getting $850k/year at UGA. That's compelling enough

Yep, apparently FSU wasn't willing or able to pony up. Several posters on TD have mentioned that the AD at FSU is struggling financially.

Actually, reports out that they did match, but he still left for "personal reasons." Its even more telling, as there is not state income tax in Florida, so he would be making a bit more to stay with a match. We will find out all in 3 minutes.

Says he met Richt in 2003 and was "Wowed" and always wanted an opportunity to work with him.

Pruitt thanks Fisher for the opportunity at FSU.

Excited to be a part of UGA. Said he was a HS coach in 2003, brought a couple of prospects over here on a visit, met Richt, and was wowed. Said that right then and there he would work for Richt if ever given the opportunity
