SEC Network Money

With the announcement this morning that a deal has basically been reached with Dish Network, they also announced the initial price of the license - $1.30/month $15.60/year) in the 11-state SEC footprint, $.25/month in the other 39 states. (To compare, the BTN has been around for 7 years and still only charges $1/month in their footprint.)
Right now, after the addition of Texas A&M and Missouri, the SEC footprint has about 30mil cable and satellite subscriber households. Here's an article about what this means in terms of revenues and profits. (Yeah, I know, Clay Travis, but he's been very smart about this issue, and his math is definitely worth a read.)
$500mil for launch year
This is why y'all brought A&M and Mizzou into the conference. You're welcome.

Everybody benefits if the value of that network goes up

Exactly. And the estimate of $500mil in year 1 is conservative, IMO. I expect advertising revenue on the SEC network to be huge.

justification for charging more people the premium rate does not necessarily equal the value increasing.

How much have the SEC teams lost the last two years due to splitting same pie with two news members?

We uversers already have the network.

Uverse was the first to announce they were carrying it.
And I haven't seen the figures on what TV revenue distribution was before we joined the league compared to after. But next year everyone should see an estimated 50% increase.

I vote "no". Do not bring Big12 pansies to the SEC.

Are you implying that the SEC needed/needs A&M and Mizzou more than Mizzou and A&M needed/needs the SEC?
