Does Auburn retain their OL and Fullback next year?

I know they spread the field a bit and run misdirection's and seem to be finesse but every time I watched them they ran some of that shite at times but did most of their damage right up the gut with Mason with their OL knocking folks off the ball. That's how the did Bama and we have one of the best run stopping defenses in the nation. So what about it Aubies, are you guys gonna dominate the LOS next year too?

Our OL will be strong. We have to replace our LT and our FB, but we have quality OL depth and suitable replacements for FB. I doubt we will be as strong as we were this season, but it should be a strength of our 2014 squad.

I hope the Fins grab that FB. Beast*.

I think we will be better next year. We lose 1 lineman and have a five star and four star guy, both with a good bit of playing experience this year to step in. The other four guys and their backups will all be back a year stronger.
We will be better on the Oline.

A better Auburn next year is scary for the rest of the West. If Auburn gets better then they will likely get a playoff birth for the NC. Good luck Auburn, I enjoy a strong rival, it's not a rivalry if you never lose to them.
Watch out for Bama too, we are still stacked and if we find a QB we'll be in the mix too.

For a bit more detail, Avery Young, Pat Miller and Shon Coleman will all get a shot at filling the one spot we have to fill on the Oline. All three have played a lot the past two years, some as a starter, some as a backup. I believe Young is the most likely and Miller may stay on the right side of the line, but I am not sure. All three are very good, Coleman was a consensus 5 star that beat back cancer and is coming into his own now and Young was a 4/5 star depending on the service. Miller has played more than any of them as far as game snaps I believe and was a four star.
The other thing is Kozan was young this year and saw his first playing time. He probably has the best technique and "smarts" on our line outside of Dismukes and he will almost certainly be better after his second year in a college weight program.
I definitely think our oline will be better. 4/5 back and a year more experienced and a couple of experienced 5 star recruits battling for the LT position.
As for fullback/hback, Ricky Parks is back and you will probably see a guy more like Eric Smith that is more athletic and a better pass catcher, but less dominant run blocker than Prosch.
Biggest loss on offense is Mason. Dude is/was really underrated. The way he got yards after contact and was the perfect combination of size and power to fit through the holes and break tackles will be super tough to replace. Mason turned nothing into something so many times our oline may not look as dominant due to that.

Perhaps - but wasn't your LT All-American? And expected to go first round in the draft? That's a tough act to follow.

Yes. But look at two things:
1. The other four guys will be back. A year bigger, stronger and more experienced. This is especially true for Kozan who was not really physically ready this year.
2. The replacement for GRob (LT this year). Two 5 star guys and a 4 star. All three have started games and seen significant playing time, not only last year, but in 2012 as well. These are not young guys. Two juniors and a redshirt sophmore who is in his third year at AU after receiving a medical RS as well.

auburn started six players on the OL this past season... five of them are back. Greg was a rare talent and won't be easily replaced, but he wasn't on anyone's radar this time last year as a possible 2014 1st round pick. Point being, the scheme and coaching were a big part in helping Robinson reach that full potential in just short amount of time.
Prosch will be missed, as will Mason... but we have plenty of options at those two positions. Just may take some time to figure out who fits where in the offense.
I do think our offense has a chance to be better in 2014, at least statistically... Marshall will be ready from the beginning of the season... not game 4 like 2013.

I've noticed that he doesn't put enough air on some of the throws across his body. Maybe he would consider going to the QB guru in Cali over the summer? The same guy that worked with JFF?

George Whitfield? He actually is working with that guy in the offseason, as is jameis Winston

Already planned. He'll be there this summer with Jameis.

I didn't realize you guys had that kind of talent on the OL. Nick has really done a poor job of getting in top notch OL recruits except for this recruiting class and we all now that true freshman are rarely ready to play on the OL the first year.
Like I said, I like a strong Auburn but I never wanted Auburn to be this strong. Plus you guys have a beast for a coach. I hate you guys but I give respect when it's due.

We signed a bunch of OL talent in the 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes... Jeff Grimes wasn't a great on field OL coach, but he recruited the position very well.

Appreciate the sentiment, but I slightly disagree.
I expect Auburn will be better overall (that includes the entire year next year vs entire year last year). That said, still a tough schedule and no margin for error. I think our talent will fill the gap of the "magic" this year, not just the big plays, but the emotional way Auburn hung in there and played with a chip on their shoulder. But, will we avoid a down game or two?
I do think we're more likely to pound teams we get an edge on (I think end of year AU crushes MSU/Ole Miss/WSU) but at the same time, some of those teams may be considerably improved. Should be fun, and I think we'll be very good, just not sure how fair it is to expect all the pieces to come together again.
In Alabama, I think we're both spoiled with how "easy" natty chances have come in recent years. We'll see if that continues.

we may be better overall, but the schedule doesn't set up as well...
one thing to also consider... you can make a strong case for Bama, LSU, A&M, and UGA taking steps back next year after losing talented/experienced QBs.
Regardless, how many teams can maneuver trips to Athens and Tuscaloosa to close out the SEC schedule?... if we get back to ATL, we will have earned it.

This is part of the reason AU struggled in 2012. Had numbers on the OL, but zero experience.

Can the state of Alabama handle TWO iron bowl games in one season? This shite is coming. Woulda happened this year. hurts my head and my liver.

I think Alabama will have a rebuilding year which is still better than most teams (8-4 or 9-3) but will be back in 2015 and it will be intense as balls
