A question regarding Kiffin developing a QB.

Especially for those who took the time to look over his whole career.
I don't think developing a scheme, gameday calls are going to be a problem. He worked under Petey and Chow, has NFL and CFB HC experience. My question is has he actually developed a QB, worked on technique, given him the tools to make 2 or 3 reads, know when to dump it off, run, or take the sack....and the myriad lessons a QB has to learn. With AJ gone I think we will all know late into next season if he can do this or not. But does anyone know if he can do this now, or is it a big unknown?

Seems like people are worried that Saban/Kiffin may be a wrecking crew.

I'm not a Kiffin fan obviously, but the objective side of me thinks Kiffin's biggest asset is how well he can coach a QB one on one. I think he is a great teacher of the QB position. He took Crompton in one year from a laughing stock to a very respectable SEC QB.

Yea Kiffin was the de facto QB coach, and Chaney would work with the Oline in position groups at UT.

This has been my question. Who has he developed? He can't take credit for Leinart. I guess Compton. Oakland was a QB train wreck. Barkley just kept getting worse.

I really have no idea what he did at SC. I just know first hand from a few players I knew at the time that the majority of the team really liked playing for CLK. they said he was a "really cool guy" who was obsessed with the concept of winning. They said he created a very relaxed yet professional environment. Obviously nobody associated with the program was happy with the way he left in the middle of the night.

He probably got that from Carroll. I've seen some shows and vids on his time at USC. But this is HC stuff. I guess we'll see by game 9 or 10 in the season to see if Kiffin can coach the QB's.

Basically, guys like Coker or Cornwell are already beasts.
Kiffin will make them a shite ton better. Cornwell especially. Soooo much upside, but a little raw. Kiffin will do a lot for him.

yeah, like Barkley.
Barkley started as a true freshman w/o Kiffin there.
And then never progressed and finally regressed ala Ron Pawlus.
Kiffin made Barkley worse and turned the best wide receiver in the country into a pile of after-thought dung.
Plus he literally started two QBs to start the year and alternated them which pissed off the entire team.
Did anyone watch USC's offense this year????

Clay Helton is who Bama should have gone after. He transformed the Kiffin nightmare.
