The OM fans that act that way are far less than the ones that hate State unabashedly. In fact many feign disinterest in the rivalry to aggravate State fans further.

True. And I don't get why it upsets them so much.
My family is constantly trying to tell me that LSU isn't our rival and that they don't view us as one. Then I tell them it was LSU's student body who came up with the idea to name the game and give it a trophy. It usually shuts them up.

It's a phenomena that exists even in my level headed State friends. Just like how I won't understand why OM fans get aggravated about being called Black Bears or Mississippi instead of OM.

Living in Mississippi I think the Egg Bowl is a good rivalry. I feel like in East Mississippi the rivalry with state may mean a little more to OM fans than other areas of the Sip.

I like Ole Miss. No respect for Miss State. They're the Auburn of Mississippi. But the Egg Bowl is always exciting and a big deal in Mississippi, so I'll say false.
