I don't know if he was really that great of a strength coach. I think a lot of it had to do with Mullen hyping him so hard when he got hired.

I get we don't pay our assistants very well, but did we seriously get outbid by fricking UConn?

That or Fletcher Cox doing more pull up reps than some people could muster on the bench press before the combine.

^^ most ridiculous comment of 2014 so far.

And if we didn't match what he wanted the administration should be held accountable.

Mullen told him to leave because people weren't getting sick gains anymore.

But seriously...isn't a strength coach basically a strength coach? I am guessing they all basically have players do the same shite.

every team thinks their strength coach is the greatest until he leaves. in the end, it's kind of a hard job to really frick up on.

Whomever we end up hiring we will get to hear the story about how his workouts are for real and Balis's were weak in comparison.

Because don't you remember that one comment that Mullen made when Balis came over 5 years ago?! He's important!

Oh I don't know look at some of these scrawny two stars that we have brought in and when they have left. Plus all of the players seemingly love him. Exhibit A- Don't remember if he was a 2 star but take a picture of Banks when he stepped on campus and when he left. Thats Balis.

Take that shite elsewhere. It's not like he did a phenomenal job. Please explain to me why a lot of players looked super out of shape this season then?

No. That's SEC football. I thought Balis, at times, did a terrible job of getting our players ready for games. Our lineman were gassed after warmups against A&M last year at home. Just an example. You see how that game went. Not saying he isn't a good coach. I just don't get all the hype. It's all from people relying on other people relying on other people's opinions.
