Yes, this announcement isn't about football though. He is just going to be talking about other life plans.

Tre Mason was an absolute beast in the National Championship game. I have so much respect for him and hope he succeeds at the next level.

I think he stays. He was devastated by the game...has a legit shot at the Heisman and getting back to the big game. He KNOWS Auburn will be a better team next year. Family has $. He stays.

He knows how long RBs last in the NFL
gone, he is

I hope the Falcons can pick him up in the 3rd round. I like his style and he would be a good compliment to Steven Jackson. Good back

So Mason needs to call a press conference to announce this?
That's interesting.
I wonder why the brightest star in CFB history--and the most heavily covered and harshly scrutinized player in history--didn't need to round up the media to tell us what we already knew.

It's a good point...and one of several points that support him leaving. I thought he was gone...but the press conference? His apology to fans and then a suspenseful, press is invited announcement that he's leaving early? I don't really buy it. I think if he was going, he would have been less ostentatious about it. I totally could be wrong, but that's my take.

probably because he wants to say thanks to folks as opposed to having someone else write him a letter (although after the CNN report, I wonder who can actually read and write, could be because he can't write so he has to have a presser).
