Clemson
Offense:
(1) QB Tajh Boyd: 13 GS, 634 rush yds, 3851 pass yds, 44 total TD. *4 yr starter; **2nd Team Media's All-ACC; ***Holds numerous school & ACC records; ****Former 2 Time 1st Team Media's All-ACC; *****Rated All-American by some services
2013 v. UGA: 18-30, 270 pass yds, 3 TD...13 rushes, 42 rush yds, 2 TDs (my good god)
(2) WR/KR Sammy Watkins: 12 GS, 11 rush yds (shockingly), 101 rec, 1464 rec yds, 1768 all purpose yds, 12 total TDs *Multiple Yr 1st Team All-ACC **Multiple Yr 1st Team All-American ***3 yr starter
2013 v. UGA: 6 rec, 127 yds, TD, 24 ret yds, 2 rush yds, and one punt return fumble that would have been huge had Murray not gave it right back to em
Bonus Sammy Stat: 0 for 2 passing w/ 1 pick giving him a -100% pass efficiency rating. Probably not going to put that one on the resume.
(3) RB/KR Roderick McDowell: 1073 rush yds, 29 rec, 199 rec yds, 53 return yds, 7 total TDs *2nd Team Coaches All-ACC
2013 v. UGA: 132 rush yds, 10 rec yds
(4) WR/KR Martavis Bryant: 11 GS, 36 ret yds, 42 rec, 828 rec yds, 7 total TD *Coaches Honorable Mention All-ACC
2013 v UGA: 36 ret yds
(5) LT Brandon Thomas: 13 GS *1st Team Coaches All-ACC; **1st Team Media All-ACC as JR; ***3 yr starter
(6) RG Tyler Shatley: 12 GS *3rd Team Media All-ACC; **All-Academic Type Guy, All-Strength and Conditioning Team, and changed positions after making some starts on D early in his career ***2 yr starter @ RG
Comment:Clemson loses 6 starters on offense and they're significant, especially from a yardage standpoint: leading passer, top 2 rushers, and 3 of top 4 receivers. Talents like Tajh, Sammy, and Thomas, especially given their respective positions, aren't easily replaceable. I know our D gets a lot of hate, but if they score 30+ in Sanford next year I'll be shocked.
Defense:
(1) CB Beshaud Breeland: 12 GS, 55 tckls, 5 TFLs, 2 Sacks, 13 PBUs, 2 FFs, 4 INTs *2nd Team Media All-ACC; **3 yr starter off and on
2013 v UGA: 5 tckls
(2) LB Spencer Shuey:13 GS, 119 tckls, 7.5 TFLs, 1 sack, 4 PBUs 6 QBPs, 1 FF, 4 FRs *3rd Team Media All-ACC; **2 yr starter
2013 v. UGA: 18 tckls
(3) LB Quandon Christian: 10 GS, 49 tckls, 8 TFLs, 1 sack, 3 PBUs, 3 QBPs, 1 FF, 1 FR *4 yr starter off and on
2013 v UGA: 5 tckls
(4) CB Darius Robinson: 13 GS, 37 tckls, 3 TFLs, 2 PBUs, 3 INTs *3 yr starter off and on
Comment:
Special Teams:
(1) K Chandler Catanzaro: Made 13-14 FGs and 60-61 PATs *3rd Team Media All-ACC **4 yr starter
(2) LS Phillip Fajgenbaum: *3 yr starter; **Only for punts, not for FGs
Comment: Catanzaro has been good and I like the idea of a new kicker at Sanford in the opener. They also lose everybody that returned a kickoff from this past year.

South Carolina
Offense
(1) QB Connor Shaw: 12 GS (and one finished) 717 rush yds, 2447 rec yds, 30 total TDs, 1 INT, 5 lost fumbles *Inexplicably left off All-SEC teams **3 yr starter, played a ton his freshman year
2013 v UGA: 16-25, 228 pass yds, 2 TD, 75 rush yds, 1 huge fumble
(2) WR/KR/PR Bruce Ellington: 11 GS, 14 rush yds, 40 PR yds, 108 KR yds, 775 yds, 9 total TDs (threw for one) *2 yr starter
2013 v UGA: 1 rec, 13 rec yds
(3) RG Ronald Patrick: 2 yr starter
Comment: USCe loses its leading passer, 2nd leading rusher, leading receiver, and one starting OL. Only 3 starters guys total, not even losing much depth. With that said, Connor Shaw was the winningest QB in school history and only threw 1 pick. Granted there were 5 fumbles, but 6 total TOs for a guy who produced as much as he did is very good. Dylan Thompson, much like Hutson Mason, has looked good (@ Clemson '12) and bad (@ Mizzou '13), so week 2 at home against an experienced UGA D should be an intriguing test for him.
Defense
(1) DE Jadaveon Clowney: 11 GS, 40 tckls, 11.5 TFLs, 3 sacks, 4 PBUs, 9 QBPs, 1 FF *Multiple Yr All-SEC **Multiple Yr All-American ***3 yr starter
2013 v UGA: 3 tckls, 1 sack
(2) DE Chaz Sutton: 13 GS, 8.5 TFLs, 3 sacks, 4 QBPs, 2 FFs, 1 FR
2013 v UGA: 3 tckls
(3) CB Jimmy Legree: 13 GS, 55 tckls, 5.5 TFLs, 3 INTs, 4 PBUs, 1 FF *2 yr starter, started some soph year
2013 v UGA: 4 tckls
(4) CB/PR/KR Victor Hampton: 51 tckls, 5 TFLs, 3 INTs, 9 PBUs, 1 FF, 1 RF, 27 PR yds, 39 KR yds *2nd Team Coaches All-SEC **3 yr starter
2013 v UGA: 3 tckls
(5) DT Kelcy Quarless: 11 GS, 39 tckles, 13.5 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, 1 PBU, 3 QBPs, 1 FR *1st Team AP All-SEC **2 1/2 yr starter
2013 v UGA: 3 tckls
Comment: Carolina wasn't as fortunate on defense. This literally seems like 5 of their 6 most talented players. From a numbers standpoint, they lose 2 of their top 4 in INTs, 2 of their top 4 tacklers, top 3 in PBUs, and top 3 in sacks. These guys were all multi-year starters/contributors, too. Similar to Clemson, it's really going to hurt losing their top 3 pass rushers and top 2 CBs. They look thin at CB, unless some guys are moving around, but they've recruited pretty well at DL. Still, these guys will likely not be ready by week 2. With that said, under Richt, we've averaged a whopping 13 pts @ William-Brice under Richt. Something has to be said for that. USCe has never had to replace this type of talent before, at least not in recent memory, so that should be interesting.
Special Teams: They essentially, lose nothing. Not even at PR/KR b/c Cooper came on at the end of the year.

Ronald Powell is leaving for UF. I think I saw that Dismukes is staying for Auburn

nevermind... thought you were talking overall, not just early.
What's the point of seeing who leaves early, how about who is leaving period?

The deadline is approaching soon, so it's relevant

I can do this and would love to, but it'll have to be some day when I have more time and energy. I may wait until the early departure deadline passes.

You fricker, why don't you do it?
Posted on 1/8/14 at 6:51 pm to MenloDawg
I got tired of dealing with those frickers, trying to sneak in people that weren't starters. I was having to look up each individual player to verify it, and found one that never had any record of ever playing, not one statistic available anywhere on the internet.
Most of the work has been done for you... you just need to finish it off when the time is right.

That's some good work, Menlo. I notice we don't have anyone on the list.

As soon as this town is less dry, I'll compile it.

Indeed, just official today? Him along w/ Crawford. If Anthony goes, that Clemson D will be in a world of trouble.

***That's probably it for the Cacks, although I half-expected one of their OL to randomly leave early.
Yep, those were some really good players. Ellington was really surprising, but he's riding that bowl performance high. Corey Robinson, our LT, told the coaches today that he is staying. So we will still have 4 of 5 returning starters on the OL and 9 of 10 on that OL 2 Deep.
