How long would you give Andy Kennedy?

One year after this. We have had so much talent in the past, but he does not do anything with it. If you look at Kentucky, or Florida, or Mizzou, they have talent as well as a good Coach. When I watch these teams play they run plays to get good shots and to help move the ball around and shift the defense. Kennedy just lets Marshall go baseline, hopes someone sets a screen, and lets him shoot a fadeaway jumper. Thats the only play ive seen him run the past two years.

Sadly, since we had a great season last year, I feel we are going to give Kennedy another 4-6 seasons. We should have recruited better after the tourny run as well.

You are right. He's not a good coach, but its basketball and our arena sucks arse. Give him until one year after the new place opens.

No, unless we go 4-12 in the SEC or some shite.

Name one current NBA player.

Our coach beat those teams when Ole Miss had much worse talent... I'd say our coach is fine.

Our records have been fine even if we don't run an offense that looks like the movie "Hoosiers". We are constantly in the top-half of the SEC in scoring each and every year. Offense is usually solid, yet sometimes inefficient and streaky.

AK will have to produce - Bjork is a basketball guy and will not accept a bad product. Unfortunately for you, AK has proven to produce a winning product every year (unlike a lot of his SEC counterparts).

I actually kind of agree, but the Tad Pad is and always has been our biggest obstacle in recruiting. AK + the new arena will be the true litmus test.

We've had some bad luck so far this year in the ending of the Mercer and Dayton games. I don't know what some people expected of the team this year. The back court is performing as expected so far. The front court is where we let experience. How do you replace Murphy Holloway and Regie Buckner? Those are two of the best post players to ever come through Ole Miss. Yeah Aaron Jones and Demarco Cox are upperclassmen, but they lack game experience due to injuries. This team can get better by the end of the season, but they really need to go on a run to have a chance at the NCAA tourney.

Every game we have lost this year has been a close game that could have gone either way. We lost to Oregon in OT. Mercer beat us with a 3 at the buzzer & same with Dayton. Now Dayton is a little less excusable because that was a terrible foul by Saiz on our lass possession, but he's a freshman. The KState game was on the road and one of the worst games we've played all year.

You serious? So you don't think this last class he brought in is any good?

I'm not a Kennedy fan, but I think this team can do some work in the SEC, especially if Cox plays like a warrior.

I would have wanted Kennedy fired about 5 years ago.

Disagree. I watched multiple Rod Barnes teams finish below .500. Kennedy is arguably the best basketball coach in OM history whether people want to admit it or not. So for now, Kennedy is doing an alright job. Without Kennedy, there is no new arena or basketball practice facility.

He should have been fired after the 2010-2011 season. Was five seasons without making the tournament.

I was one of the few last year that thought we should hold on to him before we won the tournament. Have you seen the Tad Pad its a fricking tragedy Hugh Freeze couldn't recruit to that dump. That being said I want too see his recruiting class after the new stadium is built.

I disagree only because of the shape of the program when Kennedy arrived. Kennedy's teams were almost always on the wrong side of the bubble, but they were on the bubble. For perspective, Rod Barnes' teams for the last 4 of his seasons averaged 14 wins.

Whether you like AK or not though, you have to give him credit. OM is getting a new arena and they built a practice facility.

I don't know how you can justify keeping a coach after 5 seasons of not making the tournament. I hope we fire Ray if he doesn't make it in his fourth season.

Different situation. The basketball histories of the two programs aren't really comparable.
