WR Uriah Lemay gone. He was the worst of the bunch on the check fraud scheme, the one cashing roommate's check in addition to his own. Transfer, not offically a dismissal, but for the purposes of this thread, he gone.

Shaq Wiggins has also elected to transfer, although it's doubtful it's related to his arrest for driving on an expired license back in Janurary, but for the purposes of this thread, he did get arrested in the off season, and he has now transferred, so there's another.

Sounds like y'all will be better off without Lemay, but Wiggins was a top DB for y'all, and unless I'm mistaken the depth in the secondary is thin for 2014, so that could hurt you...

Langley transferring to WR is really surprising to me with Wiggins transferring and Tramel Terry already at WR (I think. He might be a DB now)

I think we need to wait for CIYE to make a ruling on Wiggins.

Losing Wiggins is going to hurt. I just hope the secondary stays injury free this year.

For now, terry is a db.

For now, we have more depth at wr but after this season we lose half the wr roster. I could see terry moving back to wr for 2015.

As far as db depth, it is a little thin but with 2 four star db's coming in the fall, the depth chart will be rounded out a little better. Theres also a really good walkon that might get schollied now that lemay's spot is open.

This UGA Baseketball player, Brandon Morris, who was arrested on felony marijuana possession with intent to distribute charges does not count for the purpose of this thread. This thread was meant for the football players.

https://onlineathens.com/breaking-news/2014-07-22/uga-dl-taylor-arrested-aggravated-assault

quote:

eorgia defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor was arrested early Tuesday on a charge of felony aggravated assault.
It’s his second arrest this offseason, putting his status on the Bulldogs’ football team in jeopardy.
Taylor was booked into the Clarke County Jail at 6:08 a.m., according to the jail’s online booking report. He was arrested by University of Georgia police.
Taylor was one of four players arrested in March on theft by deception charges for “double-dipping” student stipend checks issued by the UGA Athletic Association by cashing or depositing the funds twice.
He was accepted into a pre-trial intervention program last month that included 40 hours of community services, but any other arrest or citation violates the terms of that program.
Taylor is listed as a third-team nose tackle on the Bulldogs’ preseason depth chart.
The redshirt sophomore from Millen, Ga., had nine tackles, one and a half tackles for loss and a sack last season.
A felony arrest triggers an immediate suspension from athletic competition, per UGA athletic association policy. An athletics comprehensive action plan committee sends a recommendation to athletic director Greg McGarity whether a player should be dismissed, suspended or athletic aid reduced or cancelled. McGarity approves, modifies or returns the case to the committee.

quote:

There was evidence that the female victim had been "possibly strangled by the offender," in the incident in Taylor's dorm room, Williamson said. There was evidence that the victim and another individual had been involved in an argument in McWhorter Hall, police said. Officers determined an established relationship and "co-habitation" with the individuals.
The victim is a UGA student not enrolled in summer school.

He gone.

Just about a month left and almost everyone is still in this. This will be a close year for the award. 4 people, Tipton, ATL, Loather and myself even predicted an assault.

The aggravated assault this guy was charged with could mean a weapon was involved or there was an attempted rape. Hope nobody was seriously injured. They should have kicked him off the first time for stealing money from the school and those businesses.

Sounds like it. Hope he's dismissed as quickly as possible. Huge embarrassment to the program.

I did call a rape... but it reads muddled up with the drug charges.
