For me that JW would struggle early, that Marshall would have success passing, that the defense would respond to the trash talking, that we would get a big lead or if the game was close that we wouldn't have a two minute drive to go ahead.

I was surprised that we struggled to field punts and kicks, would allow a TD return on kickoff, that Cody wouldn't have many touch backs and that we couldn't get a stop at the end. I was also surprised we would abandon the run on 3rd and 4 inside the ten with the game on the line.

How about you guys?

I was not suprised that we were able to run the ball on them. Thought Marshall would have more yards than he did, but expected Tre to have a good night. Also, not suprised that Gus ran some pass plays that left our guys wide open.

Suprised that... play calling in the 3rd quarter was so "non traditional". Felt like we got away from what got us there. Honestly hope we never see the wildcat play again.

Very suprised the special teams was a big problem for us. Would have thought we would dominate that area.

However, proud of this team and what they accomplished. they and the staff will learn alot from this game.

Was Cody kicking into the wind in the 4th quarter because that's what it looked like. I thought the 2nd half offense was similar to what happened against Georgia. Strange plays out of nowhere. Couldn't sustain drives. The defense got tired and here comes the other team again.

I also felt like having won so many close games that it might've worked against us this time. There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency on either side of the ball in the final minutes or maybe it just looked that way. I also wish there had been more plays around the edge by Marshall or Grant. FSU was stout up the middle but Auburn gashed them when we had tempo.

BTW I'm not blaming the loss on anybody FSU has a great team and I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about them. Jimbo Fisher is a great coach too. I don't know if all those players were really hurt but that's a good strategy against HUNH teams. The refs were slow at times and the commercial breaks didn't help either.

There was nothing wrong with the second half play calling. FSU was devoting everything to stopping the run up the middle, hence why Coates was able to get open on pass routes over the middle almost every play.

Marshall just didn't have a very good game. He made some bad reads on run plays, and the passing miscues were pretty obvious. On the interception he threw, he had a wide open receiver breaking over the middle as well. Auburn would have easily scored 50+ points had he played better. That throw and missing two wide open touchdowns cost the game.

The defense failed on the last drive, but overall it was their best performance of the season. Jameis is severely overrated.
