But I figured we could all laugh at tu.

quote:

From ESPN 1250 radio interview. Red McCombs: "I think they went about it wrong, and I think they made the selection wrong." Red McCombs: "I don't have any doubt Charlie is a fine coach. I think he'd probably make a fine position coach, maybe a coordinator." Red McCombs: "I had been talking to Jon Gruden at length any number of times and we had planned on having our next long conversation today." Red: "If we got Gruden in there for 15-years, that we'd get at least 5-titles and we would set records like we've never set before."

He mad.

What a moron!

If they had Gruden, they'd fire him after 3.

I think Gruden has mad it clear he's happy in his role as an analysts.

That said I don't hate the tu hire. Strong is a good coach. It just gives me a warm feeling inside that he was probably in the double digit region of their list. All this chest beating about harbaugh, Saban, Gus, etc.

I genuinely feel for Coach Strong. I personally really like his style and results.

Sounds as if Pattersonhad his own list and didn't consult any of the money donors (nor should he have to).

This is only the tip of the iceberg tat Strong will have to deal with. He hasn't even been there 48 hours and this shite appears.

He shouldn't have to, but if they don't like it or don't like the results they can not give another cent. If he's smart he should have sold his pick as the right pick to them.

If he really said that, then they have serious issues.

I think it would be epic for Strong and Sumlin's teams to play once Texas gets back on its feet.

ETA: Honestly would have laughed in your face 5 years ago if you tried to tell me there would be a time when both the flagship schools in Texas had black coaches.

I am starting to really feel sorry for Strong. I was happy as hell for him that he got the gig, because he is a very good coach and certainly deserved a chance on the big stage. But all these politics and behind the scenes shite could end up being a disaster

I was excited when they hired Strong for this reason. I can't wait to see the clash of cultures.

I certainly don't feel bad for him, he is getting paid enough even if he does fail.

It is kinda an experiment- did Mack ruin the job so that a politician will always be more successful than a pure coach at Texas?

Because if that is the case, it is a good time to be an Aggie.
