A lot of rumors floating around about DeRunnya not playing basketball.

He posted this a few moments ago on Instagram.
LINK

It would be pretty fricked up if we promised him both sports, then didn't let him play. Elijah Staley probably would begin wondering about his own future too if this happened.

I thought he was saying that he chose MSU because he can play both sports and that's what he tells folks when they ask him why he didn't choose Auburn?

Does not really seem like a negative thing he's posting...but maybe I am just reading it wrong.

Yeah fwiw that post on Instagram doesn't seem negative at all

I do hope that if he isn't playing basketball, the decision was ultimately up to him. Maybe Mullen was able to convince him his football future has the potential to be very bright.

That's my point. I probably just didn't word it very well. Rumors are we may not let him play both. Maybe he doesn't know it yet.

We'll see if he's dressed out this week for the first SEC game.

This has potential to be very bad PR for Mullen -- after being good PR for us initially.

I hope we let De'Runnya make the decision and announce it publicly to take the spotlight off Dan.

I must've worded this post terribly because everyone sans Engie is missing the point.

Well I think the problem comes from the photo not really supporting the DeRunnya not playing basketball topic. I think the topic without the photo would have worked better.

I don't get it. Is there more information floating around that what you posted and what is in the link?

It looks to me like he is explaining why he didn't go to Auburn. He is wishing them good luck. What else is there?

The point is he thinks he is still going to play basketball based on that picture. However, rumors are that we might not allow him to do so.

I kind of doubt they will just completely screw the guy over.

Staley may just go full time basketball after D-Will beats him out for backup.

I think it's DeRunnya's wording that is giving a little trouble.. Not yours.

I heard that people on the staff were telling him that his potential for WR had no ceiling and that he could be one of the best.

That being said I hope it is up to him to decide as well.
